This story really held up on the re-read. Ugh, I love good character growth
Toxic couple most of the time (not proper S&M, not safe, sane or even fully consensual every time to some degree), and, honestly? The characters were boring tropes. Meh.
This is why I avoid so much Japanese manga. Rape, pedo-vibes, toxic relationships, grooming… I’m typically good at overlooking some stuff since it’s fiction, but this was just fucked up. The last couple was just gross. Only two stories were kind of sweet, and only one of those two was entirely consensual. Gross. Zero stars.
They dominated the comic internationally before Manhwa and Manhua started to popular. The numbers of mangas are higher than others. So, it's natural for them to have alot of red flags troupes than others. Tbh, Manhwa and Manhua already have red flag troupes now.
So, I kinda understand that some people prefer/tolerant pedo-vibes, toxic relationship and grooming in Manhwa than Manga.
Manhwa and Manhua are not even CLOSE to the amount of fucked up manga I read. It will be a LONG time before they can even compete with them.
