So. At 16 the MC is a world champion, then something happens and he fails to get a spot for himself at the Olimpics, attracting the hate of everyone in the country. Resolution? Make the MC lose all his memories so that out of spite he tries to regain his crown. Ok. But all of this is used to show how the MC has character because... FS is a feminine sport and I guess the mangaka feels he has to win readers? This is explicitly stated: that FS is feminine. Wow.
This is a mess. And I wanted it to be good so bad you can't understand.
Also, I don't want to be that person but... this was a badly rehashed version of Yuri on Ice.
We have reigning champion Victor Nikiforov with the personality of Yuri Plisetsky (complete with love for tigers) who pulled a Yuuri Katsuki failing Japan at the GPF. Three characters in one. Ah, we have also the rivalry between the two Yuris, as the MC is also the RIVAL OF HIMSELF. Capslock because I think this speaks for itself. If it wasn't clear, the MC is arrogant as hell. Not even Yurio was that arrogant, this is the level of arrogance we are talking about.

I don't understand why so many haters are still following this story. Don't like, don't read, it isn't that difficult. This comment section is full of people who bash the story and characters left and right and there's so much salt I feel myself going dry.
What's the point? No one cares. Until there will be people paying to read this, it won't matter. You can shout all you want. So what's the point? If you do it to annoy fans, they'll just keep on paying out of pettiness.
I don't like many comics that are very popular on Lezhin but I don't go on comment sections writing hate, because I know there are people enjoying them.
Having liked everything that's happened until now, I love that there is at least one BL out there that is not worried about multishipping or hinting at a love triangle. While it's common in shoujo, you don't find this trope in BLs. I agree that it can be a very good thing that this trope isn't more common but it's just refreshing to see now and then.
Also, I think Waje has a story she wants to tell and I have complete faith in her storytelling. When she first introduced Lu Xuan Run, I was so annoyed because I thought: "great, another crazy guy interested in Jinha after knife guy" and now I'm so pumped that wasn't the case. When I think about the point of a character like this, the possibilities are endless.
Also, I wanted to point out that LXR's "character development" can't really be called as such given how he's still acting as a bastard. Will he change attitude? Don't think so for now. But I like the Beauty and the Beast scenarios so if Siwoon finds himself falling for him, I wouldn't mind one bit.
But this doesn't mean I don't like Jinha or I think LXR is a better fit for Siwoon. I just like the thought of Jinha having to come to term with the concept that violence doesn't solve anything and that violence generates other violence. He created LXR in a way and Siwoon is the one suffering the consequences. But I like that Siwoon may be the one to save LXR from his sadistic ways.
Secondly, there's the fate/envy stones, whose role is still a mistery in this mess. How much did they factor into everything that's happening? How possible is it that LXR's infatuation for Siwoon is linked to the envy stone? But then, if it is like that, what will it take for Siwoon and Jinha to overcome this?
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
It didn't start off like this. It's a slap in the face to readers who liked the original story and couple. If it was like Vampire Knight where the concept was three from the beginning that would be one thing. But it wasn't. The author should have saved this for a new story and not ruin the original couple.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Totally agree with you and I'm usually someone who avoids love triangle. I really hate the turn this story took. I really really used to love the story. I was only about Siwon and Kang jinha then Waje added this unnecessary character for extra unnecessary drama. I don't hate the the story as I still want the Mcs to end up together and have a happy ending also I still like the characters they just annoy me sometimes
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/5b/u75285_50x50.jpg?2)
This is one of the stupidest comments I've ever seen. The author will write the story as they see fit and if you don't like it then go read something else. Nothing is ruined and what does it even mean to save it for a new story?? Even if the original couple stops being a couple, it's completely realistic. In real life people don't always stay together forever, so I don't see why this is a problem in fiction. And tbh there's so much character development that needs to be done for all three characters before the final couple is formed. So stop bitching about the story and the couples, enjoy the story until the end, or just drop it and go spit your venom to another comment section.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Agree
I fuel cheated and I feel like I wasted my time ever reading this shit
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
You know that there is something called freedom od speech? Everybody has the right to critise this Manhwa especially if they portrayed their point od view with well written arguments?
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
XDDD if that story is realistic you must be brought up on basement.

![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
"Don't like it, don't read it". ---> Maybe you could follow your own example about the comment section? It's way easier to ignore comments you don't like that it is to just stop reading a manga you followed for months without venting.
I don't understand the point of telling people what to do.
The irony of posts like yours is that you don't even notice the hypocrisy of your feeling of entitlement in telling other to shut up because it's upsetting you.
This is a story with 50+ so most readers have invested on the story. It's quite possible that many have dropped quietly but it's really expected and understandable that readers express their frustration. It makes way more sense readers to be here venting about something that they treasured for so long and find it hard to just give up that you putting the time to read something you don't like.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Well, baby, back at you. If people who disagree with you and have a criticism on this story is just because they are 'haters', why are you still following their comments?
It's easy to spot the comments that you are qualifying as 'hater' even without reading them. Don't like it, don't read it. It isn't that difficult, is it?
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Please Im aduld. I wouldnt cry above someone criticises even my favourite manga/Manhwa. Its the same situation when people argue really fiercely about politics/religion etc. I have my own views... And i try to calmly portray and defend them. I am always extremely amused when your interlocutor gets really emotional and starts raising her/his voice. For me its ridiculous.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
"What's the point? No one cares. "
Says the person who wrote an essay about what she 'doesn't care'.
Excuse me but why did you write this post? Do you feel that you have a right to express your opinion? So what exactly makes you feel you should tell other readers to shut up with theirs?
You wrote a long post on why you like the story and explaining your point of view all the while calling off people for giving an opinion of their own?
There is a point in offering a counter argument, what you could have done beautifully if only your point of view of the story had not came with the OBNOXIOUS part about telling others that their opinion is irrelevant ( but not yours, obviously) and declaring that 'nobody cares' ( when you clearly does, very much so that you can't stop reading them).
Gosh, people who feel they have a right to do something while in the same breath denying the same to others has to be the definition of hypocrisy.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
If you want to read smt REALISTIC i propose maybe some Dostojewsky, Mann or Conrad. There are few titles that i would define as realistic in manga world xD I deffinetely dont read manga for realism.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Im 22 ;)
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Good for you. There is nothing better than well written literature ;) i always feel regretful that i didnt chose humanistic studies.. . But does it really matters WHO is older? 22 is conisidered being adult. Am i wrong?
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Stupid are people calling people off for a behavior they themselves can't recognize on them.
How about you stop bitching about other peoples' putting opinions that upset you?
How about you stop reading the comments you dislike and come spiting your own version of 'venon' against readers that have as much right at an opinion as yours?
Nobody can tell others what they should read it, drop it or comment and readers like you are the worst because you really think you can sit on a high horse and tell others to shut up because their opinions is spoiling your fun.
See a comment you don't like? Put a valid counter argument, or skip it. Stop BITCHING and whining that not everyone has the same opinion that you have and you feel like you own the rights of what it is to be posted or not.
Grow up. People with different opinions than you will always exist and if you can't take it and let other people have this kind of control over the things you like.
The 'venon' you talk about can only works on you if you choose to take it on your own. Take your own advice and either enjoy the discussion this manga is causing as a mature people or 'drop it'. If hearing people criticizing the story is spoiling your fun, just don't read their comments. There, there's the venon antidote. Problem solved.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
In case you don't know. 'Invest' is a broad term that can mean also time, affection and a lot of other things, not only money. But I guess someone who can't grasp the concept of irony like your posting an opinion on why others should stop posting theirs wouldn't know that either.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
How about you let people express their opinions just like you did yours?
That is something you can understand, right? Or is it that difficult?
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Nothing about what's happening right now or even before is realistic so throw away that argument altogether. What it means to save it for another story is to stick with your theme. Don't suddenly change the plot on the readers and neglect one of the main characters for a new one who appears halfway through. If the main couple was done and this was a new couple ok. If he was there from the beginning alongside the mains ok. But suddenly throwing him in and making him basically seem like the lead love interest absolutely no no no. Sure it's the authors story but readers are allowed to say their opinions on it even if those opinions are negative. What is it you like to say again? Don't like it don't read? Take your own advice.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
The beauty of the 'Don't like it, don't read it' as argument to silence criticism:
It would be so much easier for you to adopt your advice with the comments. Even more if you posted that 'nobody cares' ( and then goes on and on about it). Okay.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
People are just giving their views and venting on a story. Fictional, no real people, and the author doesn't read this section (actually the author would probably be more mad her comic is even here not the comments). This is the comment section not the compliment section. If you don't like what you see thumb down the comments you don't like. If enough people agree with you they will be deleted and you won't have to see them anymore. If not too bad.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
If you let other to dictate how much you enjoy your manga, maybe the problem is you.
What difference would make if others are upset? If you don't feel their reasons, and especially if you don't really care, why bother telling them to stop reading?
You say that complaining will not make a difference in the plot but you think that you telling others to stop reading will cause them to do so just because you told them to?
Read and enjoy your manga. If you really don't care, why get so upset to the point of telling people what to do ( when this is even less likely that a manga changing plot based on feedback).
If people's opinions on it affect you that much, the problem is not them, it's you.
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/5b/u75285_50x50.jpg?2)
I'd like to add that constructive criticism is of course a good thing and it obviously should exist.. but comments that say "worst story ever" and use bad language do not count as constructive criticism. They are insulting comments and the people who do them should be ashamed. Also the story is obviously not over yet, so why not be a little patient and see how the author decides to finish it? Maybe the original couple will finally have a healthy relationship (cause honestly till now their relationship is far from healthy).. Just don't be mean people. You gain nothing from it.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Just to share my two cents on this thread... It doesn't really bother me that people share their opinions on this manhwa and I don't think they should keep it to themselves or whatever, my issue is the massive amount of hate it's receiving just because everyone's butthurt about their otp not being together or not going through the motions the way they should. It's hard to come up with any actual real criticism towards the story in general, which by the way it has never been great or whatever bullshit people's been spewing about lately. A Guy Like You is average at best, the type of media one would consume just to chill for a bit and that everyone knows is one hundred percent trashy because c'mon, let's be honest here, everyone got on board with this story at first thanks to the eye catching artstyle and Jinha's sexual harrassment of Siwon, which no one really seemed to give two fucks about since he's the crappy main love interest and he has the right to whatever the fuck he wants and not be hated for it.
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/3a/u257204_50x50.jpg?2)
used to pay for this, but now... nah. So, I'm kinda entitled to criticise this, right?
Even so, I never say something bad about the Author, just pent up my emotions against the characters.
i feel devastated about how this amazing story turns out and many people too. as an old saying, misery likes to seek company. It's kind of good to know you are not the only one feeling miserable as fuck because of this.
And about people bashing the characters, isn't good that the Author can created such a feeling? its mean the characters was real enough for people to feel invested by it.t up my emotions. Maybe it is too harsh, but hey, who take internet seriously? I believe none of this would reach Waje. But if it did, Hope Waje mature enough to know that not everyone would agree with her.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Oh no no. You didnt understand at all. I only ship Lu Xuan with Siwon now.
And criticism of the story:
1. Siwon acting like 6 years old although he is in his 20ies
2. Introducing Lu Xuan for some cheap BDSM scenes and nothing more i guess (because Siwon and Jinha will be together...Its a shame)
3. Plot..what plot? You can summarize it in few senteces.
I think A guy like you is under average. Idk why it scored 9.5 on mangago.
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/6a/u251869_50x50.jpg?2)
I think there are different criteria to judge a story. This is still a BL we're talking about, a korean one too, so it's a niche genre and one that runs on passion. I agree that is far from perfect, exactly for all the reasons you listed. Still, it comes down to tastes. Surely it's not like this masterpiece of Welt Literatur where you quote Barthes or engage into a discussion to get to the real worth/value behind it. Context is important.
But I agree that having different spaces for discussion helps creating diversity and the fact that A guy like you is so niche, means you only get one place to discuss it and that can be jarring.
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/6a/u251869_50x50.jpg?2)
The fact that you are miserable doesn't mean everyone has to be, though. There's people who are satisfied with how the story turned out.
I understand your position, really, take Lover Boy for example: it make me miserable. But I never posted on that comment section, because it's common sense to me: don't post hate in the safe spaces reverved for fans.

Preeeeach!!!!!!!!
I’m getting so fucking pissed with the disrespect and nerve of people. Yes we are reading pirated versions of manhwa but that doesn’t mean we are given the “ok” to be mean and negative just because the author isn’t aware of the duplication. It’s still Waje’s work whether it’s here, Lezhin, mars, or 100 million light years away, it’s still Waje’s work, livelihood, and passion. The least people could do is show some decency and turn the hell away from this Manhwa and stop being so crude. I agree with the other anon, there are multiple users who claim to hate, dislike, or drop this manhwa but still come here every update to tell people “Don’t read it” “The plot is horrible” “The author is terrible” “Stay away from this” etc. It’s fucking ridiculous, I’ve read this whole thing and there are scenes I don’t like but I never whined about it because frankly, it’s not my place to or my so called “privilege”. Being a bitch to the author and Manhwa isn’t excusable. What’s more annoying is how common this attitude is. For almost every global fandom a vast majority of people (in the fandom or not) think it’s totally acceptable to trash something that they don’t like.
A Man a like You isn’t for us to like. It’s for Waje to let her mind run wild and if we like it then that’s ok but if not we can accept the differences and respectfully turn away like you would in any professional place. Then the people who do like it don’t feel put out or down because something they love is getting ripped by ignorant people.

Never say other people have too. But if you see one or two comments criticised the Characters and getting approved (many upvotes) then they tend to keep throwing hate comments. It's not okay but at least they draw the line between bashing the plot of the Manhwa and the characters, and the Artist. I rarely see people here bashing Waje, just her characters. She get it better than Sui Ishida, the Mangaka of Tokyo Ghoul when he's taking things unexpectedly further.
And if you read other Manhwas, this comment section is nothing compared to the Manhwa "Easy Target".
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/e9/u83340_50x50.jpg?2)
It is dumb to say people to shut up just cause you don't like how they feel. You mean to talk about your own hypocrisy first. And? People have the right to say what they feel about it, whatever you like it or not. No matter if it change anything in the story or not change anything. And they will keep commenting, so your comment is much more pointless then theirs.
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/6a/u251869_50x50.jpg?2)
I don't understand all the rage towards Siwon, I think the character has been pretty consistent and I find it really hard to get angry or frustrated with him or any of the characters.
All this hate against the uke just because you want them to bone. This is a shounen ai, there isn't going to be any graphic sex scene. I don't understand all this frustration, there isn't going to be any sex catharsis at all. Rather, there is a lot of good character development set up by the events of this arc and I can't wait to read about it (=・ω・=)
Also, this is so entertaining right now! I hate Lu Xuan Run but I really like him too. After all this building up, I was itching to see him pursuing Siwon and to see if or how he's going to change. Honestly I hope this arc goes on forever, lmao
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/53/u323574_50x50.jpg?2)
But don't you feel bad for Jinha? :'> I mean he has to deal with the rumors he's being gay and all but he still declares that he likes Siwon and trying to protect him from Lu Xuan Run┗( T﹏T )┛And the thing that frustrates a lot of people (including me) is that Siwon keeps misunderstanding Jinhan, even yells at him ( ̄ε(# ̄)Σ
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/6a/u251869_50x50.jpg?2)
Siwon likes Jinha, the China trip arc proved that. He wants this relationship but he needs time to nurture his feelings into sexual desire. The reason he yells at Jinha or doesn't believe in him isn't because Siwon doesn't love him, it's because of LXR's deceptions and Jinha's history with jealousy and violence. Siwon just wants Jinha to stop being so possessive and exclusive. The story framed Jinha's outbursts as problematic more than once: it's stated that Siwon loves Jinha when he smiles, not when he's moody and treats people like dirt, and while Jinha displayed a very hurtful behaviour throughout the first part of the story, Siwon fell for him only after he learned that Jinha was his sweet childhood friend.
Also, Siwon doesn't suspect anything about what's going on. He thinks Jinha's being jealous and controlling. One can point out Siwon's lack of understanding but it's suspicious how Jinha's being silent about the whole thing too. I think they both have something to learn about this: Siwon mustn't dismiss Jinha's actions over some assumption and Jinha needs to stop lying to protect people. You can't protect people if you lie to them, because you can't protect someone if they aren't aware of the danger.
Jinha doesn't really care about the rumours and what people think about him, mostly because he made up his mind about his feelings for Siwon. Siwon isn't there yet. He's in a very sensitive place: he likes Jinha, he wants the intimacy of a relationship but there are things they need to work through before marrying, lmao. Surely Siwon could make an effort into trying to hurt Jinha less though. He seems to say a lot of stuff he doesn't mean when he's angry that Jinha could live without.
LXR aka evil sexy beast is exploiting all the holes he finds in their ship to sunk it and I kind of like it. I'm so curious about what Waje wants to try with this character(▰˘◡˘▰)
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
I totally agree with you, people are calling Siwon a jerk, without really understanding his situation and his point of view.
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/30/u312200_50x50.jpg?2)
YA like literally if you went to school and saw dozens of pictures of you kissing a person of the same sex without EVEN COMING OUT ON YOUR OWN you would look 4 someone to blame too! (not saying its right to blame Jinha tho) why not just try to understand Siwons situation?!? BUT NOPE EVERYONE BLAMES SIWON Σ(っ°Д °;)っ
Is the author going for a personality disorder?
Like, when he's angry he snaps?
