Sigh, I got confused too, hell, they're basically twins. In the novel at the end of some chapters the author added a "theatre performance" as an extra, where the characters interact freely, sometimes breaking the fourth wall or something like that. I think the manhua team thought to adapt that (yay!) but chose to cut off yhq's hair and... yeah. Could be that the reason they changed xya's appearance is bc they noticed the similarity as in the manhua they both would have long hair :(
This was AWFUL. Absolutely not recommend. This story will make you so cynical on relationships, like, if one has to do all that to keep an alpha by your side, what's even the point of giving yourself to someone.
The MC is continuously hurt, his feelings trampled down, taken without his consent, kidnapped, cheated on, gets pregnant during a rut after being forced, all this by a seme that doesn't want to accept that he's hot for the MC. He even gets blamed for tempting the seme into action, just bc the seme likes to think himself straight. The MC will then blame himself for having feelings and proceed to excuse the seme of his toxic behavior, like, WHAT???? Are you insane??? The man put a damned bounty on your head after you escaped after he raped you and impregnated you both in a rut and outside of it, you wanted revenge bc he treats you like a possession (rich people in BL man, I swear), he isn't even sorry he did all that, and you think "oh well, I guess I'll go back to him". Like bitch, WHAT????
I don't get it. When the MC started plotting his revenge, I was so pumped, I wanted to see blood, I wanted to see the seme destroyed, so when the moment came the rush of adrenaline felt so good! I hoped until the last chapter that the MC wouldn't go back to him, that he'd leave him to rot, that he'd get with literally ANYONE ELSE. Like, at some point I rooted for him to go with two different women, one gentle omega (he was already in a relationship though) and another aggressive alpha, the firefighter, that in the end wasn't much better than the seme, so okay... Point is, the story is written in a way that lets you think the MC is actually lying through his teeth and plotting his revenge until the end. So you feel assured that heads will fall by the end, because you got this, the MC already was ruthless once, he can do it again. But he doesn't. And all you feel is this sense of emptiness.
That said, the art is beautiful and the sex scenes are hot, so if you must read, at least there's that I guess

Oh ffff, so River is actually passing Heil's test LMAO. His resolve is epic, even if the test itself was unfair and unnecessary imo.
Khaol set the bar really low and Heil (at his worst) is kinda struggling in setting it higher but I love him all the same, just hope Api will actually tell Heil and stop River in time, because if River ends up dying for Heil, even if Heil didn't actually want him to die, isn't the end result the same as what happened with Khaol?

The relationship grows over time and yeah, I liked how the story shows that toxic masculinity and being queer don't cancel each other out. It was rather nuanced in that aspect. The couple's initial interactions are childish and give a sense of shallowness but they eventually grow out of it. It's a nice story without much drama behind it. The love rival too eventually fades out of the story without any drama at all, but I think it was well handled, bc that gives prominence to his last scene, which I really liked.
If gou don't like drama and don't mind a PG 13 rating, this is super recommended ♡
Theirs is not exactly a relationship between equals, so falling is indeed a bad idea when Nakyum can't even choose to leave. But he's falling all the same and that could actually be for the best.
