I love a story with some good character development, and while this webtoon is clearly lacking this on a fundamental level, I have learned to read this every couple weeks with zero expectations in that regard. Hell, I even pay for the chapters. Why? The art itself is good enough to come back for. That, and there's a lot of detail in the world-building aspects-- the characters are just frustrating as hell.

The story thus far has not given us any indication that Taeseo was acting for anything other than carnal reasons. Honestly, I'm just glad he said it straight early on, instead of glossing over the situation or ignoring it entirely. Though, I guess we haven't seen the full extent of the conversation, so I guess we'll see for sure next chapter.

True. I was like, "oh that was fast?"
Like the dating misunderstanding didn't last long. Which is good cause that way it would be less painful for our cute mc and now he nows he shouldn't invest more feelings

So, I previously thought that he was in a relationship where someone used him, and he was hurt, so he distances himself emotionally now. However, he seemed to sincerely resonate with Namwoo's sister when she spoke of how she lost her sense of self because she spent so much time taking care of Namwoo growing up. So, maybe he was in a similar situation, and he only received validation or attention when he was taking care of that person. He started fidgeting when she asked him about HIS motivations, but he's never done anything for himself and he's become so comfortable with only doing things for others that he's probably never really thought about those things, so he got nervous. When he talks about doing things for others, he's told things like he's "humble," and "giving," so he likely feels empty, but validated. Could he change his way of thinking? Probably, with the help of others, that truly want to help him, and his own will to do so. Again though, he's comfortable with this way that he thinks and does things, as explained by his conversation with Namwoo. Namwoo talks about getting used to "all these changes," and Si-eon mentions that it's easier to stay on the same path (I belive because he said it was easier, or something to that effect.) Anyhow, I think Namwoo could affect some change in him, but it's gonna take time.

Yes this is what I want to say but I'm having difficulty in putting it into words. Like I don't really know how to express myself. But yeah I agree with you.

KareBear1015 May 18, 2021 6:01 am

I think that there's a decent possibility that Si-eon has been emotionally hurt in the past and his behaviors reflect a sort of defense mechanism. Maybe he was with someone previously, who ultimately only wanted him for his money. If so, I still think that he derived satisfaction from making that person happy, monetarily or otherwise, but that he was ultimately used. As a result, he gets involved only with people who truly need to depend on him for something. He's still getting the satisfaction of "helping" someone, but stands to lose nothing since he's always placing himself in situations where he's always the one giving, not receiving. In actively seeking out only these types of relationships, he can always maintain a better sense of control, and thus, minimize any emotional damage to himself. Yes, this could definitely attract more assholes, as the one guy (writer- forgot his name) pointed out he has a tendency to do so. Dating a guy who turned out to be an ass would be easy to deal with then- satisfy him to satisfy himself, they break up with Si-eon when they've gotten enough from him, and Si-eon still stands to lose nothing but money (which he doesn't care about.)

Me, this whole time, thinking about his secret: "I mean... It's not like he killed anyone."
Also me, after seeing the pool of blood in the recent flashback: "Well, I'm sure there's a very, very good reason for all of this." XD

I've already said this in response to someone else regarding my thoughts on Chanwoo's dealing with MD's confession, but I figured I'd share. The way I see it is that Chanwoo values their relationship for what it is, a sub/dom relationship. They've built that dynamic on mutual trust, and I think Chanwoo is scared of losing that. He's not had a decent traditional relationship, but he's got a good thing going with MD, and I think he's scared of losing it entirely, so he's sticking to what he knows. That being said, while Chanwoo trusts MD within the limits of their sub/dom relationship, I don't think that applies extraneously. I think that Chanwoo has a hard time believing that MD has genuine feelings for him, and as such, he's rejecting him, in the tractional sense of a relationship. Therefore, I don't believe that Chanwoo is intending to hurt MD by introducing his "new bf" to him, but trying to almost desperately prove that he can find a "normal" relationship, so they can keep theirs as is.

i really like your way of thinking

KareBear1015 May 24, 2020 7:59 am

I don't know enough about the whole sub/dom relationship dynamic to really say much in the way of whether or not Chanwoo and MD's mannerisms are toxic or healthy, or whatever. I enjoy the story and their relationship for what it is, but I do think that while they have, for the most part, good communication in the bedroom, they lack it outside of it. Chanwoo seems to have feelings for MD, but hasn't realized those feelings yet (and probably wouldn't know how to handle them either.) MD, while uncertain of Chanwoo's feelings, does know that Chanwoo doesn't want to give up their sub/dom relationship. Both have arguably done things that are selfish and in the wrong, but Chanwoo's selfishness is a by-product of his past relationships, and also a defense mechanism that underlies his inability to trust people. MD knows this, and still chooses to take advantage of, I'd even say manipulate, Chanwoo, in the midst of their play. Chanwoo is there willingly, yes, but I feel like this is a power trip that MD is playing on Chanwoo's feelings, feelings that he himself has yet to even comprehend... And that is what I feel is not fair.

Thanks! The chapter had me feeling some kinda way, but I guess I wasn't expecting all the heat, back and forth, in the comments. So, it got me thinking. Lol.

    THAAANKKKKK YOUUUUUUU omg QUEEN energy

So well put!!! Yes!! MD knows about Chanwoo's shitty relationships and how important their dom/sub relationship is to him, and yet he uses that against him. Chanwoo is there willingly but he was actually pretty much coerced into it bc MD made clear that by refusing he would lose him, and Chanwoo would do anything to avoid that

This is some seriously gorgeous art! Hell, even Hal's asshole looks pretty XD
I don't know how it doesn't have a higher rating than it does, honestly.

KareBear1015 May 21, 2020 6:48 am

I love everything about this so far!
Beautiful art: definitely.
Good story: I mean, it's only chapter one, but it's a mighty captivating first chapter XD
Dynamic characters: again, not a lot to go on, but the characters seem to be anything but flat.
Sprinkle a little mystery into that shit, and you've got some great potential! Can't wait for now!

Yerenica: gets kidnapped
Also Yerenica: "Please take care of me!"

Ummm, girl, I don't think that's how people typically respond to being kidnapped, but I love you anyways XD
