Girl I freaking knew this btch ass UGHHSINXKDJS I legit hate it when a manga follow the stereotypes of what is "manga". I literally knew the fl is gonna forgive her mother, and here we our at chapter 13 oh how sadddd me got sold of BOOHOO but oop lemme do the same to my daughter!! And then have the audacity to tell her story Infront of the very daughter she neglected??? Pfft. Ur the SAME as ur parents, don't even. And as doormat the fl is, ofc she's gonna forgive the parent who neglected her. I regret reading this cuz I was recommended by this and I asked her if this doesn't have a doormat fl and it literally does ughhhh I was lied to ╥﹏╥

It was a completely different time then there was no such thing as domestic abuse and punishment for it nor were there women’s rights so survival was different this story may be ridiculous to you but this is realistic for so many women back in that time which is why women’s rights were so fought for leaving this type of comment while living in a world where you were born with rights an a choice is honestly gross

I think it's a matter of translation. Because in this page:
https://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/the_counterfeit_s_fateful_encounter/uu/br_chapter-243207/pg-20/
She clearly hasn't forgiven them at all. It's just in her nature to placate. It's the defense mechanism she uses on herself. So far, I do like the raws I'm seeing of this manga where a ghost (not literal) of her evil sister is shown talking to her negatively and it's constant. It has to be a deliberate choice for MC not to dwell on that bad voice in her mind. She's been gaslit all her life and I think the interaction she had with the mom at chapter 13 is proof of that. Her knee-jerk reaction is to make the mother feel better. Which is sad if you think about it.
But then we see in the next chapter that nope. MC hasn't quite forgiven them. Not even the mom. Her 'excuse' of why she sat back and did nothing did little to move MC at all. At the end of the day, MC wants to - NEEDS TO - move on and I'm honestly happy she managed to get outta there.

Umm, I'm still at chapter 1, but is the ml's dad fr?.... Just to force ur SON to marry, ur gonna threaten him by selling your DAUGHTER to some pervert old man. What kind of father makes a threat like that?? Oh okay since u don't wanna marry, imma destroy ur sister's life. Ik he's getting forced to marry, but the drastic difference between who they(the sister and ml) r marrying, one is a girl from a good status, young, and pretty AND her reputation isn't that bad, they r basically the same person.. while the daughter gets a pervert old man Σ( ̄□ ̄||)
Crazy, like you could tell who he cares more. He can force his own daughter to marry some pervert away just for him to marry this young girl. Chapter 1 and I already hate the dad, idgf that he has a story.

Damn, I'm alrdy at chapter 5 but the dad dropping the bomb of selling his daughter is nowhere mentioned again it's like as if it didn't even happen. The ml rejected her(fl) for a bit(despite knowing his sis is at risk, but okay, dude was just having a moment) and everybody is happy that he finally has a fiancee... As a girl, this fr pissed me off. Ik it's the reality of back then, but idgf. The sister is clearly not loved or even considered as a human being with opinions and feelings like the SON(ml).

Pls spoil me, is this like SAO harem?? What I mean is, despite the story having ONE female lead, there r still a lot of other girls that will fall for him?? I was at chapter 22, and idk the childhood girl in his memory made my "THIS IS HAREM" radar go off. Like he alrdy has one fangirl, that one game character(Blondie princess), and now this childhood friend. Plssssss I hope the amount of girls liking him does not increase, NO HAREM PLEASE

as of the current chapter (i canr speak for beyond it) there hasn't even been a hint of romance or harem. there's no threat of a set up for it either--mc hasn't encountered a single love interest except the character romance path he chose in his first game-- but he doesn't even play that one anymore. i don't think its gonna go that route at all

I'm only at chapter 7, but so far we've met 3 female characters and only 1 dude that may become the mc's ally.. is this harem??... The whole vibe I got is like this manhwa is going for a subtle harem, but it's not canon and not too obvious. Someone please tell me if the mc is gonna be filled with girls and only one or two dudes besides him.b

No romance, no harem, no sexualised female characters - you're good to go mate. This is one of the rare ones that treats its female characters equally to the male ones, and we even have a few that fall into the androgynous zone, which is great imo as that's more realistic to how people are irl.
Sucks that the standards are so shit that what should be the bare minimum has to be praised separately ╥﹏╥

Okay I agree with the teachers harem thing but this author rlly LOVES girls, I'm at chapter 32 and there's another girl added to his "harem". Before this new pink hair girl, I thought the other blonde person was a dude, but turns out it was a girl? And I'm glad it's all just blush blush uwu's from the girls and not fighting who gets to be his gf in a way, I'm not rlly wrong. I'm just glad that the mc and the girls don't have any romantic feelings to each other and it's just pure platonic friendship.
Btw so far, he has 4-5 girl friends already and only two boy friends. Maybe I'm tweaking cuz of how much I've been fooled into reading a cool ass manhwa just for it to be a harem later on

It’s v subtle that it’s almost nonexistent but the author doesn’t make annoying female characters so I’m fine with it. I’m still confuse if they like him in a romantic way or just enamored at his weirdness but so far the one who’s on the same wavelength as him is Yoner, the first female friend. I like her so much that I wouldn’t mind a romance at the very very end.
I like this but I low-key dont like it when mls used to like the heroine, now suddenly likes the mc. I just rlly hope it's all a misunderstanding and the ml actually didn't "love" diona(or Diana? I forgot how to spell her name alrdy lol) OR an entirely different ml.
I rlly love it when authors make an entirely different character that never love the heroine in the first life. Wish this is also the same..
I agree, I'm low-key hoping the cutie Joshua will be the ML
Maybe Edwin's genetic heart disease flamed up and Diana forced him to get engaged, or she wouldn't treat him.
perhaps it's one of those contract marriage where they benefit from one another, you never know what his side of story holds
I was thinking about this too but when she almost died, Edwin told her something along the times of "Father is gonna adopt you" soooo.. they r just gonna be siblings. (/TДT)/ and ngl, even rn I don't feel any chemistry for them. It's giving siblings vibes..
Why do I feel like this is the case? Like she kept on only healing him half heatedly so he will keep on coming back.
Joshua is so darn cute, I just wanna gobble him up-
I’m guessing in order for Diane to heal Joshua, they proposed a marriage alliance, knowing the family that Diane was adopted into which is the marquis, they proposed it. He probably didn’t love Diane like in the original novel cause he loves Belze. They probably made sure that they weren’t able to back out when Joshua died. When Edwin showed signs of the same disease that Joshua had, they had to look for another cause they already known that Diane would not be able to help them. That’s why they got Belze. Joshua mentioned her before his death. Unlucky for them she already lost her abilities before they sponsored her. I bet both Duke and Edwin loved and cared for Belze and wanted her to be permanently part of the family. Since Edwin is already engaged and in probably won’t be able to break it, adoption was the way to go, even if Edwin loved her more than a sister. That’s probably why they never adopted her until she was 18, hoping that the engagement could be broken before that. Edwin defo also regressed, that’s why they met earlier and why he’s already protective of her. He loved her in the previous life and still loved her in this life. Belze is defo the real saint, she looks like the Goddess and 90% the reincarnation of a God/Goddess look like them.
now it seems like a spoiler because of how sensible your guess is
IKR!! I'm really glad we could see more of him in this life he's really precious-
Ig after a while of reading manhwa’s it’s getting easier to make up theories if there’s no spoilers. Especially if most of the theories end up being canon or partially canon.
lol ur right most manhwas have similiar plotlines but it's still addictive
So tr, doesn’t matter if it’s cliche or the tripe is overuse, I’ll still eat it all up.
