Just saw the spoilers and wow what a shitty ending. VIOLET DESERVES SO MUCH BETTER. I swear for a long time I've wanted to punch Winter in the face, but I'm afraid I won't be satisfied until he's on the floor (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸

Ok so apparently Winter will remain a douchebag 'till the ver end. He won't have a redemption arc nor any character development to begin with. Once an asshole, always an asshole. They will get divorced and by what some ppl said in the comments Violet will shoot herself with a gun and Winter will have nightmares about it. I don't know exactly what happens but she survives and they end up together at the end

This is so sad. The fact that Ishid cried and asked "you won't leave me?" only shows that, no matter how much he loves Yunifer, he never expected her to stick around forever. And it makes sense, since Yunifer in the beginning didn't plan on staying by his side, but eventually giving him up to the heroine instead. However, discarding the FL's own circumstances, the main point is that Ishid had a very traumatic childhood. He never had anything he ever wanted or liked, and he's used to it — he's used to being alone, to being seen as scary and as inferior, to watch people abandon him as soon as he's not a useful tool anymore. And throughout the story, we know Yunifer never assured she would stay with him, because she was still coming to terms with her own feelings. And Ishid knew that. Ishid knew that she wasn't planning on staying for long. Not only by what her actions showed him, but because he — having such deep traumas — never expected 'someone like her' to be with 'someone like him'. From his point of view, he was not worthy of being happy. So having her, the one he loves, finally tell him "I love you" and "I wouldn't ever leave you" — when he doesn't think he deserves this kind of happiness and is really insecure about himself — made his feelings (of relief, of love, of happiness, and of sadness for the past) start leaking out. Ishid is adorable but this was just so so so sad

I love sasha so so much, she's one of my favourite female leads. Also, a plot in which every character — the heroine, the villainess, the aide, the crown prince and the supporting character — are completely different from how the original novel painted them to be is so refreshing! I love how they just want to break free from their "roles" and be themselves. Oh and the fact everyone hates the crown prince except for his parents lmao
Okay so, if Aiden is her soulmate and, as a consequence, is able to feel when she’s in danger, that leaves us with four possible theories:
1. In their past lives, he sentenced her unaware she was his soulmate, and was unable to feel anything (even when she so close to danger) because she wasn’t the prophet yet.
2. In their past lives, he sentenced her but while it was happening he realised she was his soulmate aka the prophet (by feeling she was facing danger), but was unable to stop what was happening.
3. He didn’t sentence her and something else happened, but he was unaware she was his soulmate or she wasn’t the prophet yet and as such they weren’t a pair in their past lives.
4. He didn’t sentence her and something ele happened, but he realised she was his soulmate aka the prophet while the sentence was happening and as such he was unable to stop it.
I’m going to be very honest and confess that I’m hoping it is the fourth one because I like angst and the idea that he felt excruciating pain as soon as she was sentenced, but realised it way too late.
Another question I personally have is: In her past life, she was still part of the Willow bloodline. If she’s awakening her Willow powers now and is unaware of it, does this mean that she never awakened them in her past life? And if so, why? Are they only able to be awakened inside the Willow territory?
Anyway, excuse my ramblings, I got way too invested in this ajhdhdhdhdh
