despite what many are saying i think this manga is very good and its a title i keep coming back to. it has certain feminist messages that i agree wholeheartedly with which makes it a more emotionally compelling read for me. on the first read i had tears in my eyes!
some scenes may feel forced with plot armor for mc but its not terribly idealistic, honestly you don't really feel like the mc's power is unfair while reading. mc isn't able to just change everything in a blink, or to make world peace forever. that one climax of her revenge in the forest is gripping. some are saying that it's ridiculous that mc gets cheat powers and that aspect undermines the entire story but i beg to differ. i think you can also interpret it as sort of "despite being undeniably strong and gifted, at the same time she's still a powerless victim" but there is surely more to it that other perspectives may find. she's so op but at the same time there's nothing much she can do about the wrongs she encounters. she still goes through loss, she still endures crazy injustices one sidedly, she still gets sexually assaulted. she's strong but she's not all powerful, she's human. you want the mc to only be happy, but the world is unfair and this highlights it. i think it's an impactful juxtaposition.
while i love a feel-good story where good triumphs, those don't have as much of an impact on the reader bc its so clearly fictional. however, this read is much more realistic in comparison, though clearly far from perfect.
some also say that the mc should have gone back home in the end but i think that would take away from the story. an integral part of the story is the fact that she literally lost everything and will never get it back. during the forest climax her anguish is made extremely clear. having mc just poof and go home and live a jolly life after all the developments she went through would be an insane backtrack and not go with the flow of the story.
the sexual scenes are all with purpose and intent. for those saying this is a fantasy for men to get off to, while that could be the case for some, i think each one either contributes to the narrative or to character growth. i think the scenes are treated with consideration. some are extremely triggering but are made that way on purpose to bring emotions out of the reader and show the reality of the women in the story. also, you can't skip drawing sexual scenes in a manga centering around a sex worker. if you consider every sexual depiction on earth to be catered to gooners then you aren't going to be able to enjoy or comprehend this story.
this story is likely to make a pretty sizeable audience uncomfortable so i would advise against reading if commentary on sexism, rape, women's rights, etcetc isn't something you'd enjoy. this manga also has pretty triggering depictions of sexual assault and violence particularly against women. "art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable." is a fitting quote for a manga like this imo. this was a comforting read for me as a person who deeply cares about women's rights and feminism. i do think there are better societal critiques and definitely better manga out there, but this is far from being bad. wholeheartedly recommend. the prince is so incompetent, self absorbed, egotistical it pmo </3 he rlly thinks hes worthy of a gorgeous queen like MC when he's just a loser who thinks hes powerful... yikes i want him stoned

Well, the king is like that too, since the king admitted about it. But, if the prince kept on pushing himself to the Mc and Mc take him in as her lover then we'll just have to watch. The prince is still young as what the king said, let's just wait for an improvement, tho, i really hope there's an improvement.

but it all got wasted on that shitty wattpad type of ending.. are you kidding me . zero closure, zero satisfaction, so many plot holes and things that could've been expanded on. don't waste your time reading this unless you want to feel punched in the gut by that terrible writing(/TДT)/ who decided this was a good ending??
the drawings of everybody with 엄마 (mom) written in scrawl made my heart ache ╥﹏╥
