Maybe because in this story it's not sub-plot but the whole story is based on this, In most of the stories, uke freeloading is not the focal point of story that's why or maybe it leaves a bad taste on how this story was conveyed or maybe because some people could relate it to real life( e.g meeting people like seme in real life surfaced their frustration after reading this), had it been uke in place of seme in this story, I believe people's reaction would have been same.
