***spoilers ahead****
I struggle to see from seemingly everyone's perspective about this. I don't get all the comments about shipping Minho with Sekyung. And what the hell did Hajun actually do wrong???? Sekyung seems like such a jerk. He strung along Hajun, played with the guy's OBVIOUS feelings for him, even kissed him, etc. He literally went up to Minho and smugly told him that Hajun only has feelings for him and Minho has no chance~ What was the purpose of that?? It only made him look like a douche because he was so aware of Hajun's feelings. Which honestly yeah, he is a douche.
Now Hajun... yes he was cold and mean to Minho, but that's because he thought Minho spread the rumours and he didn't want his love interest to misunderstand. That's also why he didn't want to talk to Minho at school either. His only real fault was being hopelessly whipped for sekyung, and blindly thinking that the guy can do no wrong, is perfect and kind, etc. So instead of blaming him for multiple things (eg. seeing Minho kissing Sekyung) he thought Minho was at fault. He was too blindlessly in love to see the truth. Minho is wayyy too sweet for Sekyung-- who by the way, spent most of the time being an asshole and using Hajun in the process with little justification for it.
One thing I AM disappointed with however.... is how the writer randomly rushed the development between Minho and Hajun. THAT didn't make sense. It felt to readers like Minho was just being used as a rebound for Hajun (even though Hajun supposedly returned Minho's feelings??) It was pretty poor writing and made no sense.
Jaehae is a complex character with flaws and faults. It's not as if he's HEARTLESS like some people want to think he is. If anything it's quite the opposite... He's a human that gets hurt, and sad and scared and because of things he's been through he makes some poor decisions along the way as a self-defense mechanism.
Like idk, do people just not want to see real human-like traits in stories? Do we not want well fleshed out characters that resemble you, me, ALL OF US? I swear people read this and just want perfect little cardboard cutouts for characters that do no wrong and are boring and one dimensional.
Anyway I just wanted to rant about this. I obviously think it's ok to be frustrated or pissed with some of Jaeha's actions throughout the course of the manhwa. But I feel like many totally dismiss him as a plain shitty person (which really isn't the case) without even attempting to understand him....
Mamura is my babyyyy ; 3 ; he's a precious, soft child that deserves all the love in the freaking world. Plus more importantly, he makes the MC the happiest. I did like the sensei starting out, and I never disliked him at any point. But you have to admit he did screw up along the way, and realistically so ...(like teacher / student relationships are difficult to deal with in the REAL WORLD??)
Mamura was just the best boy all round (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ <33 so im glad lol
Ok so I started off really liking this story.... but then in the middle it got REALLY painful to read. Like at first the main character was being frustrating and annoying as hell and I started to despise him because honestly... he didn't even deserve Chun Sam (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸 BUT THEN-- I began to realize I was being too harsh? The mc is complex.... he's definitely not the easiest character to love, but he's been through a lot in his life and you come to understand why he acts the way he does towards Chun sam and doesn't readily accept his affection so well. The story takes a seriously dark turn at one point, and well, I cried a lot. But I'm so glad that in the end the two characters worked so hard to sort things out between them. And that Chun Sam didn't give up on him. Like props to this guy... he's honestly so loveable and precious. And he deserves to be happy.... but like so does the mc? After everything Ming gyeom's been through, he deserves a good bf and family. So I just felt really relieved and happy for both of them at the end ╥﹏╥
And one thing that really REALLY pleased me, was that unlike many angsty / drama filled manhwa/manga I've read, the author actually gives many chapters at the end purely about their relationship development. Like it didn't just flat out END right after they got together. The last section of the story is honestly the cutest. My favourite parts are right there ⁄(⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄)⁄ <333
Honestly this was an amazing read. The characters all felt really fleshed out and well developed. Especially the main character. I love the focus of friendship in the manga. And I think the coolest part about this story was the fact that you didn't even need a confession or a kiss in the end to know that naturally those two would just end up walking side by side together. Nothing official needed: you just already feel and you can tell they feel it too. Like they're probs gonna get married and take over his mom's shop. I feel satisfied ^o^
And tbh, I couldn't really stand Ueno and Kawai tho majority of the manga- like ugh. I hated their MAJOR hypocrisy, cowardice and jealousy... like sure Ishida had those qualities too, but he genuinely tried to improve-- meanwhile they... /sighs/ Still by the end, I guess I didn't dislike the two as much as I thought. There's no 100% good or bad in this character, they're all flawed- some more than others and I guess that's the beauty of this story-- how relatable and I guess 'human' each of each of the characters feel.
I mean it was pretty rapey... but the MC liked that? And fell in love with him? lol that's so absurd ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ Ik this is a fictional story but still lol. Plus, Hyeonjo was crossing a lot of lines, even BEFORE the incident where rumour got out and he got super angry.
I liked this much more when it moved away from the questionable material. And it was pretty cute around the end with Hyeongjo really trying to make it up for his previous actions~ I strongly prefer this fluff over the rapey-vibes pls( ̄へ ̄)
Glad we're finally getting some backstory on DJ now
he was such a cute smol child ; 3 ;
