The first time I read this I didn't look as deeply into it... but rereading, i feel that it's very clear Woojin liked Gayoung long before her actual confession. He just repressed his feelings.
The way woojin was never interested in anyone else BUT gayoung??? Even with eugene he turned cold on her and basically said "do whatever you want" making it obvious that he doesn't really have deep feelings for her even though he THOUGHT he did. The only one he'd ever fight for is Gayoung. It was clear he had a pessimistic view on love and couples throughout the story, like whenever he'd think about them or look at them, he seemed kind of gloomy. And this most likely stemmed because of his situation as a kid with his parents fighting so much, his father cheating, his parent's divorce, etc... So he blocked out whatever feelings he felt for gayoung along the way: not wanting to deal with that, and basically being scared of relationships and commitment. This becomes really clear after Gayoung confesses and Woojin says he's scared, and it cuts to his flashbacks of his parent's relationship and essentially how he thinks that "love cant last forever".
seeing jaehyun cry and think it's all HIS fault -- ugh that shit hurted ; _ ;
im pissed at the psycho friend.... but also a little bit at eunsung thinking this is a good decision. WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS WAS YOUR BEST OPTION? HOW ABOUT TALKING TO JAEHYUN INSTEAD???
But i mean-- i do think eunsung is planning something to get rid of the friend now which thank god... he's not just gonna take the L
As much as these last few chapters are really frustrating me.... Can I just say: start to end, I really like the mc? He’s very sweet but also level headed and strong. Ofc it’s not his fault that he has no clue how jungwoo is a manipulative bastard, since he’s pretty good at hiding it. Plus he owes a lot to jungwoo in the past apparently....
So keeping that in mind, I’m honestly glad he didnt ditch his “friend” for a guy he just recently met. Ofc we all WISH he did, but considering what the audience knows, and he doesnt know, it really speaks to his character how loyal and good of a friend he actually is. I’m sure with how rational he is, he’ll figure things out soon enough ((about jungwoo being a psycho)) and then we can celebrate
This^! I was getting really frustrated with all the drama that people were creating over someone having trust issues. It happens in EVERY story where this kind of scenario plays out. And, truthfully, that's the most frustrating part, to me. I think it's realistic to trust someone you know over someone you don't. The people who don't believe that will often turn around and wonder why someone trusted a person they HADN'T known for very long when that person turns out to be abusive.
Why do so many longer bl comics I read: they start out so good. so promising.
and then start becoming so....... >_<
Their r/s in college: I can understand why it ended. Like they couldn't talk to each other and express their feelings well. They kept hiding things from e/o and it was frustrating to watch. Don thought he was trying to protect Haero by keeping things from him and visiting his ex... HE WASNT HELPING. And ofc they could've patched that up real quick~ but in the end Don wasn't the problem: Haero knew Don had feelings for him now, he knew he wasn't trying to get with his ex-- but it was Haero being an insecure mess. Which in a way, I kind of understand. Haero had self/people issues. He wasn't ready to be in a relationship with Don when his own emotional and mental health was so crappy. And so they broke apart.
But then this time skip happened and that's where I actually started getting mad. Like this was a chance: A CHANCE TO FIX THINGS BETWEEN THEM. They could've finally started over, and they could've done it RIGHT. But noooo, instead Haero goes into blackmail mode. And Don goes into cheater mode. Like bro why... this is character development gone backwards. And they're not on the same page YET AGAIN. If this a love story between these two, I actually want to see a convincing healthy relationship to make me believe that these two SHOULD end up tgt-- otherwise, I don't think they should be end game. In fact, if this was real life, they probably wouldnt end up together.
(and btw i hate how the lady is gonna become collateral damage. sighh)
why tf did someone dislike this comment? lol do ppl support toxic relationships involving blackmail and infidelity this much? smh. no matter how much you like this webtoon, doesn't mean you need to be an idiot.
lmfao are you indirectly implying a manhwa that starts with 'A Man' and ends with a 'Like You'?? 'Coz that's what I'm thinking bout
I get what you mean but the relationship was already damaged beyond repair when Haero disappeared the second time. If they ever get back together Don will have some serious trust issues. but yes, i agree the story started going south when Don started cheating and Haero became desperate and started blackmailing Don. I'm disappointed it started out good but now I don't know if I'm gonna continue this story.
that is true... Don would definitely have some trust issues. I just wished the author started off with trying to re-kindle their friendship first of all. have them SLOWLY get to know each other and ease into each other's lives again. Like 10 years is a LONG time jfc. And that way Haero could actually show how he's a changed person, willing to fight for Don and all (which would minimize the trust issues)~ and Don could have time to break it off with his gf. Yet instead here we are, they BARELY just met again, and they're already building their r/s on so much toxicity. i seriously dont get the author's intentions. like am i supposed to be rooting for them here??? sorry im just venting at this point hahaha. this really did start out good but now its just :///
ah the infamous 'A man like you' lolol... i havent actually read it BECAUSE of all the disappointed comments about it~ and it definitely fits the shoe i'm describing. read quite a few other bl stories that have disappointed me in the long run tbh
yes I agree lol. The story was already messed up and then the author tried to add some over the top unnecessary drama that completely obliterated any good opinions I had left of the main characters. I'm just soo disappointed ugh!!! It started out sooo good with all of that sexual tension and look where we are now. *sigh*
lolololol that story is a trainwreck.
'A Man Like You' is a classic example of a story that started out fine and had to be dragged out wayyy longer than it should have because of it's popularity, for money, I guess. This one, as you pointed out before, turned into a mess solely because the author over-dramatised the plot and put too much angst into what started out as a fluffy and sweet story. The sudden flip from fluffy to psychological was disappointing, and since they will obviously face more trouble being together than not given their rocky past r/s, the readers are too confused to support them getting back together.
But I guess I still want to see what they'll decide to do later, even though I really don't wanna see Nami's end of the stick, so as far as readers like me are concerned, I guess it's a win for the author. Yayyyy.
