So I love collecting physical media and I started buying my fav BLs. I'm not necessarily ashamed of reading BLs but I know it can be... peculiar to some people. I don't go around just shouting it on roof tops. Now I don't usually have people over because I live kinda far from everyone else and I'm kinda very antisocial my home is my safe haven but what if I have someone over and they poke around my book shelve and open a BL and fall straight on a sex scene or something like idk I would feel kinda of self cautious.
So did this ever happen to you? how did do you deal with this?
I collect both bl and gl mangas with sfw and nsfw contents. I keep them all on a shelf in my relatively small room and get guests coming in time to time. if your worried about a guest pocking around, you could always just try to put the books away for the time being whilst they visit. or what I do is, place a big or an interesting enough object covering those mangas. there is a higher chance the guest will have their interest fulfilled by the object and leave the Manga alone. For example a guest once was so intrigued enough at my hua cheng shrine that they didn't even notice my bls. Good luck!!
That's so true, having something more flashy in front is a good trick. I guess I'm just overthinking maybe I will cross that bridge when I'm there.
If someone comes across something embarrassing I own I just talk about it nonchalantly like anyhting else until they think it's normal lmao. You can either just be chill about it becasue theyre more likely to forget it if you treat it as normal but if you freak out theyll remember that. Or you can talk so much you overload them with information and theyll jsut not have the energy to remember.
like "Oh wow is that a pair of stripper heels/BL manga/good omens shrine/100 origami toads" I just go "Yeah I got it when i... *continues rambling thill they're tired*"
