standing ovation. this shit slaps and is fucking hilarious to boot. mc has a good heart but is also delightfully 'my way', occasionally assumes a bit of a gangster-gremlin aura, and is definitely more than a little crazy. he wants to make the shittiest drama he can so that he doesn't receive cosmic punishment, but all his efforts at making 90% of his viewers think his shows is a mess result in everyone loving his stuff

UPDATE RANT: developments with fls like dona and yerin have been very frustrating to watch. now they have a chip on their shoulder bc they're mad lee pd is doing a new project with only seol but (a) he was shoehorned into it anyway so it's not like he's intentionally abandoning his previous collaborators and (b) even if it was his idea to start a project with only seol from his old team and new people for everything else, what right do these fls have to be so butthurt about that? it's ONE project, it's not like it's an emerging pattern of him dropping people like hot potatoes or dishing out sudden cold shoulders or anything, and even without taking into consideration his quest (which, by the way, has a TIME LIMIT and a DEATH PENALTY) any artist is gonna want to try new things and meet new people, it's really easy to stagnate or grow stale to the public if you're limiting yourself out of some strange, misguided sense of... loyalty? duty? i dunno. seol gets a bit of a pass bc she too is a regressor and is operating for lee pd's benefit (albeit reckless and kinda dubious in her methods, she is not ignorant to the bigger picture and is clearly coming from a place of aggressively prioritizing mc's wellbeing). anyway the gals are out here trying to make a makjang in response to lee pd's new project, but while part of me hopes it'll be a good experience and they'll gain confidence from it, a good portion of me is rooting against them and hopes they are all served a big slice of humble pie topped with a big scoop of reality check. like pls stop being delulu. you have a bond with lee pd after all time you've spent collaborating together, yes, but your relationship is still largely professional. don't cross lines and stay in your lane -_-

i get mad every time i read the title or look at the cover art, but once you actually start reading the tower climbing game-clear setup is pretty cool. mc is just the right amount of morally dubious lmao. overall it's pretty different from solo leveling, unlike how it presents itself, since it's not a whole dungeon shebang thingy. it has some elements that were utilized in orv too, but really the greatest offenders are the white coat and the name jinhyuk, which to me seems like a hybrid of sung JINwoo and yoo joongHYUK, but whatever. we all gotta start somewhere. the character chun yoosung literally looks like the yjh to jinhyuk's kdj, but their relationship is so hilarious that i don't really care anymore. the fights are always exciting, there's lots of fun characters and not many annoying ones, not to mention the art is great.
