So I just heard about this series and it's seems pretty interesting. Should I start with the manga or anime? I came for the shounen genre and many people pointed out the BL subtext (if you look into it) which had me even more interested. I was wondering if there's any shoujo romance in this series? Not that I'm against it, but I'd like to be 'prepared' ;p
The manga first and best (almost, there are always rare exceptions) ALWAYS. Shoujo romance... Mmm... There are girls who like Yuu, but he's absolutely dense and doesn't get it, so I'd say "no". In the anime they took some of the bromance out and added hints for straigh romance (erasing and adding blushes), but the manga points out more of a shonen-ai subtext, yep.
MINOR SPOILER (NAMES): Main straight couple (ShinoaxYuu) has very little hints, way less than the shonen-ai one, I find them cute though (I ship MikaxYuu, but Shinoa is a nice and funny character so I don't mind it that much). There's another female character (Mitsuba) who likes him but there's even less for that one.
Why not both? But me, I all started it with reading the manga .. nyaha .. But I can say that Anime is much more better .. TeHee .. Because you can feel their the Bromance feeling, hahaha, as a yaoi addict I can really sense that its kinda shounen ai .. ahhaha My yaoi senses are tingling witn those boys characters .. yay!
And yeah, there's a shoujo romance in these series .. I recommend you just to watch the anime first .. heheh then if you are craving for more, just read the manga (￣∇￣")
the anime follows the manga pretty closely but hasn't caught up to the manga, even so I read the manga from the beginning. it's better to see it come alive after you've read it
