Since she was a neglected child, she understands exactly how debilitating loneliness can be... She thinks since their relationship is out of the norm, they could end up being shunned by the village and end up lonely too... So she's worried and trying to get him to do 'normal' things to remain accepted. Still a stretch
Sorry, I meant to like this. I think you are right but I saw it a little as lazy writing. I just don't think the "backstory" had anything to do with them. Even so Im hoping for a good outcome. Also, the fact that even tho she feels like that would have been a good reason to support them. But oh well
