- Sehan (the ex) wanted to apologize to Garam because Garam was still angry about the past. Garam asks him, "Aren't you bringing up the past just now to make yourself feel better?"
- Jaehyuk interferes. He introduces himself as Garam's friend, but Sehan caught on and asks if he was the guy who Garam is seeing right now. He also made a comment about how Garam's tastes changed.
- Garam drags Jaehyuk away from there, but Sehan continues talking and says that it was still good to see Garam and that he missed him.
- Jaehyuk asks who the guy was. Garam says it's just someone he knows. He thinks that Jaehyuk would be angry if he said it was his ex. Jaehyuk asks if Garam found it uncomfortable to talk about and says that it's fine already because Garam doesn't have to tell him about every single person he meets.
- Jaehyuk fails at acting nonchalant. He was saying stuff like "I was really bothered that he said he missed you, but you seemed uncomfortable so why bother. Well, I'm not really curious," while gripping the steering wheel. He was insisting that he's not curious throughout the chapter but his actions say otherwise lol
- Garam can tell that Jaehyuk was really very curious. He gives in and says that the guy was his ex, that they met in high school and that he was his first love.
Happy new year Pixie!! What an interesting chapter. I’m getting a weird vibe from the ex even though he seems genuine in his apology to Garam. However, he was basically taunting Jaehyuk at the end there because why tell Garam he misses him as he’s walking off if not to get under both Garam and Jaehyuk’s skin? I don’t like him and I can see him trying to weasel his way back into Garam’s life. He knows Garam’s past, his likes, dislikes in a way Jaehyuk doesn’t and I feel he will try to use this to his advantage. I’m hoping our guys won’t let this come between them and derail their budding relationship.
me too! the look on his face when jaehyuk appeared was so suspicious, and yeah, he was definitely taunting them. i think it shouldn't matter whether he knows garam well tho because garam is so angry at him. it would just be annoying if he keeps pestering garam at work while pretending to be a good guy. i hope jaehyuk or garam can find some way to get rid of him.
I agree, however, Garam’s anger could also mean there’s still some low-key feelings there. I’m hoping I’m wrong, and Garam just plain hates the guy. I could just see him leaving snacks on Garam’s desk at work and finding excuses to see Garam at his office during working hours. Ugh, I just don’t have a good feeling about him.
You have all my gratitude for this translation I was dying to know what the ex was saying. He's definitely acting sus. The fact he saw Jaehuyk means he'll get jealous over their relationship and will try to mess things up. I have the feeling Jaehuyk will not stand staying apart from Garam while the ex is around. With his mother threatening to kick him out of the house, he may find the worst solution possible to solve these two problems: join Garam at the same company so he can spy on them and also get money to reimburse his parents. Jaehuyk is not chill enough to sit back and watch lol
- Garam's co-workers asked if Sehan (his ex) was his friend, and he had no choice but to say yes. Sehan tells Garam to get a vanilla latte because he knows Garam likes sweets, but Garam says he'll just get an americano.
- Sehan says that the drinks are on the house. Garam didn't want to be treated, and Sehan says that Garam is still the same as before. He reminisces about old times, but Garam cuts him off, asking if they're even close enough to talk about the past like that. Sehan was dejected but says that Garam is right.
- Garam is pissed off even when he got back to work, but he remembers Jaehyuk wishing him good luck and feels better.
- Garam sends a message to Jaehyuk asking what's he doing and Jaehyuk says he went to his parents' house. He also asks if he should pick Garam up to which Garam said yes.
- Jaehyuk also receives a text from his mom reminding him to move out of the house, but he dismisses it and thinks it's ridiculous.
- Garam was waiting for Jaehyuk after work when Sehan approached him and asked if they could talk for a moment.
Thank you thank you!!! This was such an interesting chapter. I especially liked the part when Garam gets back to work after the encounter with his ex, he gets a bit angry but just thinking about Jaehyuk makes him feel better then he sends him an elephant emoji with heart eyes!! That was so cute!! I hope things don’t get awkward when he picks him up!
What I hate the most about love triangles is how it messes up the dynamics between the two close people fighting over one person. The part where Jaewoo threw all the care he had for Seowoo and betrayed him really sucked. I get that it reaffirms that his personality didn't fit to be endgame, but I also really wish the siblings' dynamic didn't suffer so much from being involved with Raon.
I just expected better from Jaewoo, I guess. It's not wrong for him to fall in love with Raon, but what's shitty was continuing to pretend to be Seowoo, and I know that it was set up to be his downfall, but it's still such a frustrating turn of events. Like couldn't he just come clean the moment he realized his feelings and just tell Raon that the guy he grew close with was actually him?? I swear his chances could've been way better. Instead, he just came off as an asshole. Choosing to continue fooling Raon using Seowoo's name and betraying Seowoo was a massive downgrade from the character who was introduced as someone who cared about his twin that he was willing to do even the troublesome things. I also really hate how he knows he made Seowoo cry but didn't do shit about it. What made me appreciate his character at the start was just gone because he couldn't be written to be selfish without being an asshole.
For me, the story suffered so much for making the twins' world revolve around Raon and by not giving a fuck about the twins' dynamic with each other anymore. There's too much focus on which one gets the guy and not enough about the twins confronting their issues about each other and giving any importance to their strained relationship.
The author's other works are so much better.
- It's Garam's first day of internship.
- Jaehyuk went to the family restaurant. His mom smacks him and asks where he spent the money in his account. She also knows about Jaehyuk leaving the dorm through his cousin (the dorm manager). She thinks Jaehyuk left the dorm to play with girls again.
- Jaehyuk tells her that he doesn't do that anymore because he's dating someone. She asks if he got her pregnant and Jaehyuk was offended that she even asked him that. He says his partner had nowhere to go and needed a place to stay.
; His mom still tells him to move out of the house/cancel the lease or else she's gonna cut off his tuition and other expenses.
- Meanwhile, Garam had lunch with the people at work. They were about to get coffee on the first floor of the company building when the worker recognized Garam. It's his ex who was kinda happy to see him and asked how he was doing.
Thank you for this and Merry Christmas!!! Garam’s ex did look happy to see him, which I know will drive Jaehyuk absolutely mad, to know that Garam is working in such close proximity to his ex. Question, can you describe their interactions at the beginning of the chapter, especially when Garam returns to the apartment and he was blushing. I can’t fully understand what is going on, but they both look so adorable together!!
oh before garam left, jaehyuk called him 여봉 yeobong which is like a term of endearment for one's spouse. garam got goosebumps and tried to leave but he came back and tried to call him 자기야 jagiya (darling). jaehyuk teased him and was like "자지야 jajiya (dick)?" so garam got embarrassed again and left to go to work
That cliffhanger got everyone talking lmao
If I may add to the discussion, yes, Shinjoo's concerns are valid because Jaehyuk was a womanizer. But Shinjoo is also the friend Jaehyuk has been talking to about his feelings before she even knew he likes a guy. She knew he was finally being serious enough to sell his stuff for a new place, but she finds out Garam was a guy and suddenly Jaehyuk isn't serious anymore. I guess that could speak to how much she couldn't imagine/trust ex-womanizer Jaehyuk to ever like a guy for real, but I think we also can't deny some prejudice there.
Also the things she say about Jaehyuk calling Garam ugly and him saying he'll just get tired of dating him? Garam has always thought those things about Jaehyuk before their relationship improved. What happened was that she reaffirmed his previous doubts, and Jaehyuk immediately said it's not like that anymore. It's upsetting for those previous doubts to be confirmed, but Garam also knows by now that Jaehyuk really likes him. This really can't turn into a fight especially after learning from their previous one.
Pixie, you are a true gem and as always, I thank you. This chapter was so interesting and the way Jaehyuk handled his narrow minded friend. Yes, Jaehyuk may have been a womanizer in the past, but it seems like she can’t even begin to imagine him being with a man. Jaehyuk dealt with her like a pro and defended his relationship with Garam. I was proud of him.
Great summaries and amazing analysis as well
I am amazed to see how much people are now commenting and debating the chapters. It definitely warms my heart. Just few months ago the same people were bashing this BL xD
Yeah I mean I like her concern for Garam, but she doesn't point those out when she still thought he was a girl. She's aware of Jaehyuk's past, but she's also aware of his present and how he's serious enough to live with his partner, but that somehow doesn't matter now because the partner is a guy and Jaehyuk would just be playing if it's a guy.
Anyway, I get that how Jaehyuk's friends view him is the consequences of his actions, but Shinjoo isn't fully right for how she reacted to him imo still a realistic reaction tho
Me too, I enjoy reading the comments now compared to last year hehe people are finally invested enough to debate about the story
