I assume he left the mom and kid cuz he was sick and he didn't want to be a burden on them.
Could be. But i guess my sentiment in here is that.. if he left because he has terminal illness, cutting ties with his family with no communication or way to connect (i assume), isn't it just like he died to his family that day he left?
What's the difference between dying with your loved ones till the end versus leaving everything behind for decades -- with your family either passing away as well or having no memory of u at all? If haebom's mother never got pregnant of him and then 40yrs passed and the father came back, no one in that village will know who he is and his memories of that place. Its as if he really just got forgotten by that place.
Its just the fact that haebom was born so he still has a connection to this foreign land even tho he has gone for such a long time. What he did is no different than passing away in the view of his loved ones that got left behind..
But that's just my thoughts haha
as a lesbian who can never be in a relationship I yearn for it but I love my family so much. the way Andrew was staring at the couple physical intimacy made me tear up. it feels so bitter and I hate myself for having this bitter feelings towards the straight couples. I hope everything turns out well for Andrew and Luke though :(
