But also, I'm kind of wandering if the seme is just one big fat liar, and he knew all along that the uke WAS an omega, and dropping those suppressants was just a sneaky ass ploy to get the omega to his apartment so he could 'accidentally' mate with him?

Either

1) Alpha is way more manipulative than we thought and even his whole 'We should break up' thing was a ploy, and that the alpha recognizes that the omega was getting jealous earlier and thought he would push him further to confess his feelings.

or

2) Alpha is a huge dense dum-dum and needs to accept his was a jerk and at fault.

I'm hoping for number two and he actually apologizes for blaming the uke for what went down and accepting his role in things, but we shall see~

YeJun hadn't found out he was an omega until he had come back to Korea....neither he nor DoYoon had known him as an omega. DoYoon had woken up all disoriented post-rutting sex and didn't know he had marked an omega, only he felt that he had mate bonded. He hadn't even KNOWN who he had had sex with, let alone who he had marked. So WHY DID YOU THINK IT WAS INTENTIONAL?!? Why in the world would he so underhanded to "force a confession" from Noah, when he had CLEARLY only wanted a FWB relationship?!? By dropping an inhibtor INTENTIONALLY?!?

He's the type of guy who would just cut it off cleanly. He's no low-class manipulator. Why would he even need to do that when he could just force a confession?!? He ALREADY KNOWS how Noah feels about the relationship and that he had wanted to take this relationship to another level which Ian hadn't wanted to do.

At the time they had been FWB they both had experienced sex as alpha and beta (dry, no natural lube, painful, difficult, no pheromones exuding & sensing) etc. which part made you come the conclusion that Noah had been an omega?!? Ian had clearly stated to Noah when he saw Noah again five years later that "the last time we had sex, I had known you as a beta" (reference the difficulty with beta sex). So CLEARLY he hadn't known that Noah had turned when he had gone into rut. It wasn't Ian's fault Noah had been marked, since, CLEARLY he hadn't invited Noah over. Noah had shown up on his own, GOT TURNED INTO AN OMEGA PER IAN'S HEAT. Ian HADN'T WANTED a relationship with Noah or any omegas at all.

You're twisting this story into something it's not.

Perhaps you are right. But given how much an ass the seme is, is it REALLY that unlikely that he might have hidden motives here?

Toxic Seme's are unfortunately very, very common, and as someone who writes dark MM romance for a living, I'm seeing signs that things very much not be what they appear with the seme.

The biggest red flag that jumped out was the fact that the seme felt oh so comfortable sitting next to the omega, well knowing that the omega had his child and was in fact the omega that he mated with, and toying with him while purposefully releasing his pheromones to the point of making the omega sick - while holding his kid? THAT is what made me sus that the alpha might not be so innocent. He had zero problem do that, knowing more than the omega knew, and happily letting his twist anxiously.

So far, we've only seen things from the omega's point of view.

From his point of view, you are correct in all you have written, but from reading many other stories and manga that reveal the full story later...I doubt we are getting the full picture here.

We don't know what the seme's intentions were yet.

I went back and read over the chapters again, and here are the fact that we know for sure:

-Alpha sought out omega first.
(Omega thinks it's just because they were both Korean, I am skeptical of this)

-Alpha decided to pay extra special attention to omega for at least six months, even when his peers clearly don't accept omega in their fold.
(Again, this makes me sus that the alpha was doing this for a reason - not just to be friends, not just because omega was nice, but for a specific reason).

-Alpha was biting omega before he presented.
This was another huge flag to me and I think played a major part in the omega finally presenting - he had an alpha constantly applying pressure and pushing what could have been a beta existence into that of an omega.

-the alpha acted uncharacteristically cruel to the omega when he said they were just FWB. Before them, the alpha was happy to act very couple like with the omega
(so it makes no sense that he would go from treating the omega like his little wifey to telling him he has zero romantic intentions UNLESS there was something the omega was not privy to. Perhaps family pressure. Perhaps the alpha thought the omega knew all along that he was an omega, and was trying to force his hand. Who knows.)

-The omega didn't respond to the alpha, and they didn't speak at all for a while. And then the alpha dropped the blocker pen by the omega and made sure to wait until it was obvious that it had to have been him that did it.
I 100% think that he intentionally dropped the pen to lure omega to his house. Seme is top of his class, the son of an elite family that would have pounded into him early to be careful. I am very doubtful that he 'accidentally' dropped the one thing that keeps him from losing control. He knew the uke well enough that he would come crawling over to give it back to him.

-The omega was the one to leave and disappear without a word.

-Now that the alpha has found the omega, he is forcing him to marry him on threat of his family taking the child.

You might be right - I tend to go into some wild theories about shit because I do love a complex couple and a toxic seme that will do whatever it takes to get his uke - but I really do think there is another side to this story and the seme isn't just some innocent snobby alpha that oh so innocently was shocked when the omega was proven to be an alpha.

His personality is not pristine. He is from an upper class family and used to getting what he wants, why should this be any different? His behavior on the park bench and forcing the omega to marry him speak volumes on what he is capable of doing to get his way.

But I guess we will have to see how this plays out.

I just hope that the alpha owns up to his own role in all of this and the omega holds him accountable.

Ok. I'll read this tmrw. But just know he's not that scheming. And he had just made friend w/ YJ because he is a beta. In his socialization he only socializes w/ alphas and betas. His friends looks down on betas because they're not in the same class. Also, YJ might have a bit of an inferiorjty complex. Some ppl gives two shits about what other ppl think of them. The author made him seem particularly vulnerable and soft. Easily malleable.

Great read and I enjoyed your take. Clearly you know what to look for in writing.

There's only one thing that I am afraid is messing with your analysis- plain and simple the author is clearly not as good as a writer. There is messiness in the writing, plotting, worldbuilding, even scenes execution, story beats et all, that is clear that author isn't good at it and as they might have something interesting in mind, their writing makes it more of a parody and weird ... I don't know, caricature of the tropes and characters and I don't think they aren't near being able to execute something so subtle as you presented. I feel this is their first long form writing and they made the mistake many newbies do- they make every character have strong behaviours and strong reactions, as if they don't trust the readers to get subtle hints.

Which makes it even more entertaining to wait and see how the creator will contort themselves to try and get out of this mess to continue the trope and redeem the alpha.

Will the author try and redeem the alpha? Make it so his family has applied all this crazy pressure? Perhaps he was trying to force their hand by making with the omega?

OR is he really just a classic, toxic alpha male that doesn't give AF about anyone else as long as he gets his uke in his possession?

I honestly I at this point would even prefer him to be this irredeemable caricature of toxic top/seme/ML, because it would create a story where the omega is main character and he goes through the journey... to whatever, find his strength and leaves the alpha. That would be really something refreshing for the genre.

I am really afraid tho, I might be right that this story will be entertaining not because it's good, but because it's bad and author will make it worse (which I will take, no lies, entertainment is entertainment and I'm cheap).

I'm a messy bitch. I love trash and I inhale toxic seme's as long as the uke at least puts up a good fight, which this one seems to be capable of - love that he gave the seme a good slap.

Even if uke ends up with toxic seme, I'd settle for baby alpha learning from seme's mistakes and being a non-toxic seme in a sequel.

Man, seriously, I hope omega will slap that alpha good fight. But it’s a trope for a reason, sadly, and seeing as even now some people work hard to redeem the alpha I doubt it will go any other way than usual.

I have no idea what to think about the baby alpha, so far he was just there. Asleep with no personality.
