The needles don't work on martial artist above a certain level. He is only able to use it on the lackeys. The needle isn't that powerful.
The dragon with his black death alliance was just too arrogant. It was the dragon's fault for trusting that vengeful lady. She was instructed to be patient but went against it regardless. The dragon has poor sense of character and can't judge good and evil properly. This has led to all the relationships he built to fall apart.

Am i so glad I didn't believe that herman isn't brainwashed.
