people saying the ML seems suspicious now as if he didn't rape the MC in a public restroom at the very beginning of their 'relationship'
rape feels like a staple of the BL genre at this point and that is utterly depressing. authors just throw it in without a second thought because to them it's not a big deal. it's "romance" or "comedy" or "hot" or whatever. then readers think the same thing and don't bother to think critically about it because they've been so desensitized.
bro i brought up the rape in mingwa’s “Jinx” and someone literally said coerced rape isnt rape..after i sent them a gov offical doc showing different types of rape..which included coercion… they still said it isnt rape lol…. and they loveee to say “fiction doesnt affect reality” yes…yes it does…ur so desensitized to the point where u forgot the definition of rape
oh god, don't even get me started on Jinx. people get so pissed when you point out how present rape is in the story. all i can think when people say shit like that is: if you were on a jury in a court case with the same kind of rape shown in the story, are you gonna be like "wellll technically he DIDN'T rape him because it was just coerced sexual acts AND the guy who did it has trauma so he shouldn't be in trouble for it :("... like.... come on now.
seems like everytime there's a cross dresser plot the authors choose to go the route of having some average guy who thinks he's found himself a cute girl then get tricked and assaulted over and over again. but it's all okay because he actually likes getting raped guys he's just internally homophobic and that's why he says no constantly.
a physical reaction does not equate to consent, which is obvious to anyone with even a quarter of a brain.
also, it really doesn't help the whole "trans women are predators" stigma. they obviously aren't trans women in this case, but the implication is there. a person who dresses as a woman, acts like a woman, calls themselves she, but is actually a predator who uses their appearance to fool vulnerable people and assault them. hmmm... where have i heard that description used before?
cross dressers are not trans women. but trans women share superficial similarities with cross dressers thus making these types of storylines all the more insidious. also, it's still gross to portray cross dressers as predators regardless.
fuck this shitty ass trope.
my personal theory is that mr woo has been replaced by a robot and now lacks the hardwire required to carry out communication. his ai programming just isn't good enough to hold conversations for any longer than a few sentences. his physical affection is all a distraction from his inhuman nature, a mirage if you will. he is just a machine playing the role of a man, and for who knows how long?
it may already be too late for soohan, i fear. for alas, he cannot discern the difference. how many of his fellow subordinates have already fallen? how many of his peers have already been replaced? im certain the robot army is growing right under the nose of our protagonist.
what will he do next? where will the author take this incredible plotline? hopefully we'll soon find out.
