I know this is not "The ideal" healing story but who cares everyone deals with their traumas differently. I didn't romanticise their relationship at first because the boy was in a Stockholm syndrom and the man was still a abuser to me, but as the story progressed and they put layer to each characters, the talk about 'safe word' 'consent'. I liked it a lot. What I liked the most was the author concluded the story with uncertainty, that we don't know whether they will be together at the end or not, whether the man will be able to put his trauma past or not because that's what future was. This story is borderline toxic but it's their story and not anyone else's its not romantic because it was never ment to be one. If you ask me I would like to think that one day they both will overcome their traumas then stay together.
