4/5. The final battle was so anticlimactic and bland I was so disappointed. Everything was so simplistic and convenient for our MC. The worldbuilding also isn't fleshed out properly. Suddenly she's the only person who can call out the pure elemental?? And she won easily against a strong and powerful family with lots of noble support? Her spirit Jen is coincidentally very powerful and the only one of its kind?
The emperor only appeared when it's convenient to the plot and his only excuse is because "she's from that evil family and I love my son better bcs he looks like my dead wife anw but I won't let my daughter free bcs I'm selfish" really he didn't bring anything to the story.
If you strip out all the handsome faces, the story and writing is very lacking. MC is very bland and almost have no personality other than she loves Libertia so much. She's very mary sue bcs everyone loves her and she has no flaws, all of her plan is perfectly executed. That's why I didn't feel engaged with the extra stories bcs she feels very generic, although it made sense why she end up with Daniel since she has high affinity with spirit.
Also the story was wrapped up lazily. Somehow it was cleared that there were twins and MC conveniently changed her name to Alisha. How did everyone reacted to it? How did Libertia remembered by the public then? And what was it with the mage tower?? They appeared and then disappeared just as easily to make our MC win the battle in just 2 chapters.
Art is good but the execution is very lacking. It feels like the author first get the idea of "coughing up blood regularly so everyone feel sympathy for her" but don't know how to resolve it properly. The only thing I kinda like was the fact that the Raphaelis curse was caused by bad thoughts and rumor. I thought that was pretty neat.
Love it. The story deceived you thinking that this is just a simple bdsm story of a couple but as you go on you start to uncover all the details of the two MCs. The truth about the father is heartbreaking really. And I love that we got spinoffs for the side characters.
Love the world building! Liz reminds me of Shirayuki from Akagami no Shirayukihime somehow
9/10
Binge reading it makes it tolerable but I can imagine it was frustrating following it in the real time.
But the story is charming and captivating. Some people might be put off by the nature of the relationship, but none of the two MCs are quite normal both in character and circumstances. The story heavily relies on the worldbuilding and I can say the author delivers, it was adequate and well-written.
As for the art, gosh I love it. I love how the artist draws bodies. You can see the fat and the flesh, and they show sexiness but in a very natural way and still looked realistic. The way the artist draw intimate scenes also somehow reminds me of Villainess in Love.
Anyway it's not quite a light story but I can appreciate every aspect of it. Also the demons are so cute.
I expected the rating to be higher tbh. The concept feels fresh for romance fantasy genre and the worldbuilding is decent. The plot reminds me of ARISA but less darker. I understand people get annoyed that people mistook Iris for Arke and that she never learned about her family, but we literally know nothing yet about the mother.
Iris is a very likeable character and the blue hair reminds me of Nine from Beware the Villainess. The art felt very familiar so I checked the artist and it's the same as Oblivious Mr B.!
I hate that this doesn't even have a proper author tag
Pleasantly surprised by the worldbuilding! It's original and very refreshing. Looking forward to the sequel!
Is it the translation or the writing? I couldn't seem to enjoy this.
Feels like nothing is resolved. Jaeha didn't have any character development and still didn't get his trust issue resolved. He ran away every time instead of communicating his insecurities. He only opened up on the last 10 chapters or so.
Do Jiyoon might be loyal but he's also manipulative. Like a big part of Jaeha's sympathy is because he's supposed to be abused as a child.
Also I feel like the worldbuilding could be better explained. I didn't get that there are different department for the guides (hence the guide chief), and another for the espers. The office politics seem to be just brushed off. Didn't help that there isn't much diversity in the drawing that all of them look very similar.
I finished this, but it really didn't feel very satisfying. Especially on the relationship side. Jaeha still didn't know what he wants, yeah he likes Jiyoon but still didn't want to imprint, while he's the only one stressing about if another guide with better match will come.
