the author did a really good job of potraying a identity dissorder thats unqiye to the person just like how they are in real life. its interesting to see how all of his emotions that he supressed turn into its own person and then see how after he was able to be himself the mix between the two first personalities
even if they were id say it could be acvurate. a lot of people think DID is having multiple alters living in a headspace, because thats what is mostly talked about especially on platforms like tiktok. however DID is more if an umbrella term and can apply to many other underlying personality disorders. The main part is that its a dissasociative disorder, and the concept in this manwha specifically is him dissacoiating from his true self to such an extent that it became an alter. However, its mentioned only briefly and used moreso as a starting point to figure out whats goin on
yeah i urge everyone to do their own research and read about it bc tiktok isn’t a good place to get information lol. i’ve read like 2 psych books on it so i’m not gonna sit here and say i’m an expert i just didn’t like how his personality’s suddenly became one like that’s not realistic and in most cases it takes multiple sessions of therapy and sometimes it won’t actually merge.
that is true! i can see why his personalities can become seperate, changing urself to the point u become a different person and all that , but him simply realizing he didnt have to so it ends was a bit anticlimatic and also unrealistic however nobody really wants to read thru therapy sessions like that especially for manwhas like this , thats just the sad truth. im glad the author did go thru the extent they did bc ive seen way worse rendtions
me when im ina complex charavters who just get thrown away for
drama competition and my opponent is gareth
srsly tjo
its so frustratung his plotpoint is how his rightful anger from nobody believing him and makimg him a villian and never asking him directly what happened, but then it just happens again?? why even mention it if u werent gonna make a moment where the truth comes out
his character is better than jacks coz jacks character is literally liking s&m and being nice
thats abt it
gareth is much deeper and complex
of you think about it jack also has issues. his guilt about what happened to his sister and how he behaves towards her, not understanding how could that have happened. when family is involved it's hard to keep an objective focus.
I think that with more chapters we could have had a deeper insight about Jack's personality and motivations, but the focus was on Gareth regarding his intentions towards Leslie.
it was intentional that we had a way to see his feelings develop but that ultimately his past came to bite him in the ass.
it feels refreshing and very alike real life.
he refused to consider and elaborate his wrongs and never tried to make amends. he is a deeply egotistical character that didn't consider the feelings of the people around him. the author just wanted to make us aware of that to not make him a villain, but just a person with issues.
the story highlighted Leslie's first steps in making relationships with people, first a no strings attached friends with benefits with Jack and then her first love. and that was Gareth. now it will be jack and even if we have no way how it will go it doesn't discredit Jack's character.
after all, we see the story through Leslie's (small) eyes and for most of the story jack was only a friends
the mc was so annoying and both male leads were
like side characters when it was focused on one or the other
honestly it lacked plot and story and everything that could have been interesting for the plot had 0 sustenance and was dropped so easily the art is good so i had high hopes but i feel nothing after reading it.
both male leads were treated so wrong
i just think that juho shouldve been more flshed out. also the problems in cheongho and yi-rim is basically
yi-rim: "i dont want to hold you back because i love you"
cheongho: "so ur sayung u want me desd and u hate me????"
and my final gripe is how at the beginning they were pretty similiar in phsyique, and yi-rim
had a mature yet cute face.. recently it seems the author really went in on that eomta sterotype
