Idk maybe I don’t get straight couples and the context changes a bit when their relationship is already so rocky but… I feel like this conflict is a bit forced— I feel like most people wouldn’t really mind if some things to said were quoted directly FROM romance books; that’s honestly really endearing and legitimately happens ALL the time.
I feel like they could’ve played more into Gavin’s friends knowing about it if he had revealed something uncomfortable. It’s a little more reasonable that people prefer marriage issues to stay between them
Ya I literally didn't see what the issue was, it isn't really that big of a deal. The point was that he still meant those words but he was jus taking inspiration from places that can relay those feelings better. Also I feel like the sister is a bitch for doing that, she sees him trying hard and knows that this would make him look bad (when it shouldn't but whtev).
In the beginning I was soooo irritated with Cliff. Yes the author has influence but something about a man getting man at a woman who has 0 influence over who she’s marrying rubs me wrong. He has ALL the power! but knowing what we know now, knowing that Cliff thinks she’s giddy about having forced him into a marriage makes his reaction a lot more understandable. Idk when you think about how she must look to others it changes things a bit and makes for more understandable character choices… one of my top isekai irks is characters acting too extreme or being inconsistent based on what is needed in that moment and I thought that smoothed it over nice
