So..I just had this super random thought..
See...when in shoujo or female lead mangas or dramas, I usually dislike the mary sues and cutesy ditzy girls. But I'm tolerant of those in yaoi male ukes.
Because cuteness and the helpless act is normalized for the generic feminine role, its not an interesting character design...aka just basic..aka a boring read.
But at the same time, for men the same characteristics are frowned on and so men who own their adorableness(ukes) are kinda charming and entertaining?
Or maybe I have a biased taste and I'm just overanalyzing.
Personally I don’t like this stereotype in both shojo and yaoi.
By the way, I don’t think that a cute, ditzy uke is innovative, unconventional, because the uke is perceived as the « feminine » role in the couple. Ukes are even called Mums in omega verse. So their personality traits remain linked to the female gender conceptually.
So... these days a lot of anime with yaoi/ shonen ai vibes are being made and many end in tragedy.
Devilman Crybaby (not exactly shonen ai...but it is tragic)
Banana fish
So now...I kinda wish they remake Ai no Kusabi. Its hardcore yaoi and i doubt it'd be as well recieved as the others (being yaoi) but I'd like to watch it. Never really watched till the end because of the animation..I want to see a pretty Iason Mink
I had initially loved the anime Free! for its plot, characters, shipping. All of it. But with the addition of new characters and plots, I'm starting to hate it..watching it has become a chore....like something to keep updates on the plot.I have not read the books.
First..and this is my biggest problem. Why does everyone blame Haru?????
He's a great swimmer. So what?? Why are you so pissed off? What did he do to you?? Like... with Rin and Ikuya and Sousuke all blame Haru for everything bad in their swimming career. Why???????? Just let the guy be.
Also Haru and makoto dont have much character development?? Maybe its just me...but despite it all, Rin grew up.. so did ikuya whether good or bad..but they changed. But haru has stayed the same and makoto too.
I really want to understand more of the story...but its becoming harder to like it. Ugh!!!! Its so frustrating!
Free goes like this:
First season - rin's drama- rin's character development.
second season - haru's drama- haru's character development (because now he knows what he want to be, he's looking at the future, a future were he can still swim, aiming for the nationals with rin)
besides in this season we also have makoto's character development, since he choose to teach kids how to swim, and that's why he decides to go to tokyo to study even if haru goes with him or not (he stopped in a way of being so dependent on haru)
Third season- ikuya's drama, ikuya's character development.
Personally i love all the characters, the more the better xD I'm a little frustrated because we haven't seen mcuh of rin up until this last chapter when he's finally back to tokyo!! I can't wait for the next one.
About them blaming haru, i think it is in a way what hiyori said, everyone who swims with haru ended up hurting some way. Is hard but is true, the reason? well he's the mc xD
Can anyone suggest an anime with good art and a light plot.
Like..for example..kino to tabi or Izakaya nobu. I don't want complicated plots...something not serious but a little slice of life like... I want to take my mind off of things and I need a little chill type anime.
Garden of Words is an animated movie, but I think it has the light vibe you’re looking for, for the majority of the movie. If you have Netflix, it’s on Netflix.
Say, “I Love You” is also fairly light, imo, good animation (mAnGa wAs bEtTEr). The Ancient Magus Bride, too? uhuhuhhh light plots, light plots... Honestly can’t think of many. Lucky Star, Servant x Service, Sakamoto Desu Ga (mentioned earlier), Nichinjou, Sakurasou... Hyouka! Hyouka is a good one.
oh yeah, I like this anime so much! Sadly, because of the graphics, there not a lot of people enough courageous to give it a try.
If you like that kind of humour, one day you should try Uchuu Senkan Tiramisu, it's pure humour with a serious tone, sexy vibes and amazing graphics, seriously, look at that : http://www.mangago.zone/home/photo/2881066/
So I just finished "Devilman:Crybaby" and now I am desperately searching for a doujinshi with a happy ending or atleast a re-incarnation fic where ryo is a human or a bit more human.
The story in itself is beautiful and I do not want a sequel/prequel/spinoffs that'll mess it up.
But a doujin is appreciated. If you guys have a link, can you please give me. Or fanarts? Or we can just chat about how awesome and beautiful the series was.
So during my exams, every single day there were new updates on the manga that I read..and now that my exams are over..they just stopped.
(╯°Д °)╯╧╧
So unfair╥﹏╥
why not? it is your chance to break the habit of reading yaoi
there's a risk in being a fujoshi/fudanshi,
like family member will find out about your browser history

Yeaah.. but nowadays most shoujo manga feel so shallow. They're the same plot...and its boring. Its the same with yaoi these days too.... too much non -con and rape. I feel like a criminal reading some manga that I had bookmarked in the past.
Can you recommend any manga with mystery or comedy genra with a good plot. Can be yaoi or yuri. Manga/manhua/manhwa whatever works.
Heyo.
If you want a manga/manhwa/manhua with a good plot and romance, you should read this:
- King's Maker (But you've read this already)
- The Reason Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke's Mansion (But you've read this already)
- Unstoppable Siblings
- Koimonogatari
- Tomodachi No Hanashi
- Haru No Noroi
- Light & Shadow
If you want some mystery and action:
- Cage Of Eden
- Kamisama no lutoori ni
And for comedy:
- Gokusen
- Suddenly Became a Princess One Day (But you've read this already)
I saw some of your comments hahaha, that's why I know that you've read some of them already (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ I hope that you find a good manga here lol.
What irks me is that in a yaoi manga, there are very little romantic plots.
I get that shonen ai is more fluffier than the yaoi genre. But...idk, yaoi does a lot more fan service with sex than romance. And the rape!!! So.much of it. You think its hot for like one or two manga series, then it starts becoming worrying at how many ukes get harassed. There is actually a manhua about this..like a troll manga. And its hilarious. Try reading it, and you'll see yaoi in a different light.
And also... the part where a girl is a villain. There are haters and homophobes. And I understand that gay people will know other gay people..and their friends will consist of gay couples. But, each and every guy out there is one..no straight people exist (ai no kusabi). Like..how does the species survive???? And all girls are evil..why can't they be normal?? Jealous? Hateful? Fine. But they're portrayed as the literal satan incarnate!!!
And....there are no mention of fujoshi/fudanshi. As one myself... I feel sorta left out.
ooo ... I will give it a try then.

This is hilarious.
So is there any Doujin about Toya and Yukito from C.C Sakura or any clamp universe? They're cannon but really there's not much fic about them as compared to any other manga or anime.
Asking the good questions.
Would have liked answers tho...( ̄∇ ̄")
