this is a pretty good story
She's saving up money in order to escape and buy herself a bakery, so she could support her parents and live happily doing what she loves best, baking and cooking.
However, seeing how the kids around her are suffering, she wants to help them also to be happier. Her cooking and baking has magic, so whatever she gives them, helps their soul.
It's kinda Stockholm syndrome-ish. I mean she still wants to leave or so she claims but she is making the best out of her time here and getting close to some people. Honestly , I would love this if it ends with her leaving and going back home but she'll probably end up with thr kid who dislikes being touched and she'll stick around

Well she is a reincarnated from being hit by a truck kind of deal... but I think of it as, as she read the story from her past life, she knows she will die if she doesn't help the other kids with thier issues. You see, it was the bird spirit that told her that her cooking will help free them from thier spells or whatever they have in thier hearts and so she is trying to help them and also save herself and is saving buttons to one day escape (in case.things go wrong) and buy her own bakery.
If she had given her cooking to emo kid there, she could have broken the shadow over his heart... but his spirit stopped it... and pushed her.
