Yeah sorry to say they didn't survive. It was a flashback to the beginning of the outbreak and you see his dad as a zombie and his mom saying he was acting strange and when Eunchan asked if his dad bit her she doesn't answer, but you can clearly see a bite on her shoulder. Eunchan then leaves his mother there, and it's implied that he simply leaves her there for her to unknowingly turn into a zombie so he can instead find his sisters.

respectfully, just use your head. if they were alive and were supposedly there in the flesh at that moment, where were they after their son woke up from a near death experience? they just saw him off to the refuge, “my job here is done” and then fucked off? the most important place both the son and the parents could be is by each others side. the only way they could be separated in an apocalypse is a) they actually got separated like the LI and his sisters or b) they’re dead

the LI makes it a point to LOOK for his sisters even though there’s a slim chance they survived. why did MC not look for his parents? because he knows they’re dead.

it is literally right there, in your face, even before this chapter. the MC loves his parents and treasures his memories of them but doesn’t even attempt to look for them? it’s so obvious that he knows theyre dead. whether he saw it himself or they died to let him escape is up in the air but a guy with such moral high ground doesn’t even ask if anyone’s seen them? yeah. 100% dead.

this is just my opinion and not meant to be insulting but respectfully if you couldn’t understand that until PAST the end where other people had to explain it to you, maybe just stick to romance genres. they tend to be more straight forward and always tell you exactly what’s going on.
