Man this s**t is sick. I've never been more disgusted with a ML in all my years. I'm sorry. Who ever rated this story so highly and brought me here… your mom’s a h*e. The author did the MC dirty. And there was absolutely no resolution. It ruined the entire read. All I have to say is that the MC deserved better.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like the dynamic between the main couple. I just hope that when they get back together they really hash it out/build healthy boundaries and the MC isn't forced to compromise in a relationship he‘s innately uncomfortable with just because he ultimately loves the ML. Mostly I’d like for the ML to take responsibility for the state of their relationship. I'd like for him to apologize to the MC and acknowledge how he's hurt him instead of gaslighting him into seeing/doing things his way or letting the MC accept full responsibility for their “break up” (which I'm sure he’ll try to do).
I'm on chapter 59 and I believe the monsters are definitely the lesser of two evils. I'm also annoyed with the FL. Yes, the monsters lied to her (and that is wrong), but the FL had such strong principles. For her to doubt the loyalty of the monsters who supported her since childhood, without much pushback, undermines the part of her character that I loved the most. Especially when the ML, and her human friends, hold fundamentally different views from her, and will continue to wage war on the monsters in spite of the FL and the monsters “humanity.”
I prefer the MC’s relationship with Blake. I think Blake is a sweetheart who truly loves the MC, but his insecurities are corrupting him, most likely because he saw or received a report about the MC and Carl getting intimate, (they didn't hide it well). The MC was obviously falling for Blake for 90% of the storyline. She explicitly states this several times and even tried to barter with the demon for Blake so that they could be together after the story ends. Plus, this man is on the cover. Yes, there is the issue of Blake possibly being Cain, and the MC distancing herself from the relationship due to the anxiety of it all. But Blake's identity has yet to be settled. In fact, I think it's likely that he's not Cain at all. (1) It would be too easy; (2) I think the MC and Blake are endgame, and the author wouldn't make Cain endgame; (3) Blake didn't say he would kill himself; he said his heart would stop if the MC died, which is more metaphorical than literal (and very on brand for Blake, as he often has cheesy romantic things to say to the MC); (4) Cain wasn't an emotional person whereas Blake may be overly emotional; (5) Blake is partially obsessed with the MC because she emanates pheromones, and he's been taking them to the dome every day since chapter one. I also think that Carl falling in love with the MC, and the MC having relations with him, is just the authors way of showing how the world will maintain the original storyline, even if it doesn't look the same. But nothing is set in stone. I could be wrong. But lets not jump to conclusions. I put my faith in the cover (Thanks for making it this far lol)
I appreciate the intimacy (▰˘◡˘▰)
