Ik damn well Author regretted making Ulysses and Randolph's storyline that way, it's obvious from when they had their first 'consented' intimacy and how there's a lot of consent to it lol. They would've been amazing if Ulysses didn't do a lot of non consented and uncomfortable stuff towards Randolph, and genuinely his character just doesn't seem like he'd do that. He harbours hate towards the king, and understands what the children went through and even his friend Shin was one of those children. He's one of the characters that could've understand what consent was and how important it is, it really didn't make sense when he did those and that's the major hole that the author left that didn't make sense for his character
