I first watched the OVA at 10 (holy shit) and I don't know why I was feeling nostalgic and curious for this story, so I wished to revisit it and I was actually surprised to see this wasn't finished yet! I'm in college now, and I must say, I got whiplash to see all the initial non-con and all the problematic yaoi tropes from that time, because it's been so long since I last engaged with an old yaoi story that I sort of forgot the magnitude of how questionable it could get, but I'm honestly loving where things have gotten now! I went from Morinaga hater to feeling bad for the guy. Talk about a twist.
It's evident the mangaka has matured over the years with how lovely their current relationship is at the moment. You can also tell by how Morinaga recalls his initial advances on Souichi with shame when they are at Souichi's new office and apologizes for it, genuinely telling him that will never happen again. I felt like the author wished to communicate her change to us on through him, sort of. I can't wait for Souichi to come to terms with his feelings. It's insane to think that even Onodera Ritsu has confessed to Takano and Souichi is still saying he's "friends" with Morinaga!
Anyways, I'm rooting for them. I wish the mangaka a lot of great health so she can at least make it to Souichi's love confession! I wonder where I'll be in my life when that happens. I love Souichi so much (▰˘◡˘▰)
Hi! I was looking for a manga name I read a long time ago. It had kind of the old yaoi style, but not as bad. It was a story about a guy that falls in love with the uke, really cute one, and the seme joins the photography club he's at. I can never find the name, it would help a lot! Thanks
Edit: it's not Yarichin and the uke looked like the uke from Challengers!
Newsflash to everyone: abuse is awful, trauma is awful, and it's weird, and disgusting. Most people saying that this story is awful are a bunch of hypocrites, and I will call you out for it, because you came here due to your gay fetish, you fetishize gay couples and all you want to see is two soulless, empty carcasses of characters have sex, but the second these characters get a serious and complex background story, you say it's awful and weird?
I'm really sorry that a story about a kid getting assaulted time and time again while being totally neglected by his mother is "too weird", "too awful" for you.
Momo was the product of rape, and his own mother did not wish to protect him when the men she brought home did the same to his son, so, because that is the only type of "love" Momo got to experience growing up, he began "stealing" his mother's clients so she didn't have to endure more of it. He wanted his mother to notice him and be happy, essentially TAKING THE ASSAULT on her behalf TO PROTECT HER. He spent what he earned in gifts for her, and so, he thought the only way someone could love him is if he let people use him in whichever way they wanted, until he met Yata.
I'm a Momo defender till I die. He is an CSA victim who developed a very twisted idea of love and who thinks his only value is his body, thinking the only way he could get someone to stay is if he sells himself. He also developed bad habits, which is not all that uncommon for victims. Alcoholism, smoking, gambling, they are ways of escaping.
Yata is the only person Momo could experience actual love with. I don’t care if people say this couple sucks. I will defend it till I die. Period.
Couldn't have said it better
you ate this up, like let me cry in peace.
Damn I press the wrong button, *like* you are correct, a few years ago I saw images at first of GOGOGO of them I thought "well another sex meaningless manga" an then when I read it I realized the serious background, was not pretty, was not cute but at least have a meaning and made you think about the real problems, momo was very lucky when he found yata or vice versa, now they live together and both get the love they deserve
