Koutaka better have a very good reason for his behavior in hs and for not contacting Chitose, or this story will fall flat. I really hope this has a good conclusion because, as of now, it's 5/5 for me.
This manga brings back nostalgic memories of old Japanese BLs, minus the harmful tropes (abusive relationships, dubcon, etc.) that old school BLs used to romanticize, thankfully. I don't know how to explain it, but BL mangas nowadays have a different vibe. They feel too shallow.

This should be rated higher. The mangaka did a good job of writing about a sensitive topic (sadism disorder) without romanticizing it. In this story, it is considered a disorder because it "interferes with daily functioning, or harms or may harm another person." And it's a good thing he overcame it.
Psychological conditioning and traumas, especially in childhood, play a big role in developing paraphilias. A backstory about Koto's life from childhood to adulthood may be nice but I think the mangaka just gave us the right amount of info to let us, the readers, put together the reasons why Koto developed such a disorder. And withholding the details makes it more intriguing. Afterall, as much as there's a science behind it, it is still not fully studied and understood.
And I also love the insightful comments here. Let me copy paste them below.
From @Unluckypuppy13
"It's true, playing out your fetishes in reality ruins them. I remember 2 posts on reddit about a woman who had a breeding fetish destroyed when she actually experienced pregnancy lol. And another guy that found out he wasn't really into scat the moment a prostitute was taking a dump on his chest...."
From @LilTinyVamp
"The part of our brain associated with pleasure is also associated with violence. Maybe for some people it’s a little too connected and they actually get turned on when they inflict pain on others. I get but I also don’t get it"

I still like Adachi-san for Atami-kun. I just think they need more time and build a deeper bond. I'm also glad Atami-kun rejected that sempai on the train because it seems he only wanted to have a physical relationship. Sempai, you are older and should be wiser. Atami-kun is only a first year and both of you are in high school. As much as I've read many BLs set in high school, I'm still against underage sex irl. Those puberty hormones can be channelled into studying, sports, and other club activities. There's so much wholesome things to enjoy in childhood.

Maybe your culture and background are different but where I came from it's not normal for minors to have sex.
English is not my first language so I googled "get real" and the definition is "used to convey that an idea or statement is foolish or overly idealistic." But in our country it is normal for minors to not engage in sex until they come of age. The fact that it's different for your culture and background doesn't make it foolish or idealistic.

I agree with this. Kids don’t have proper skills for holding boundaries or respecting each other and don’t get any sex ed in many places. I think it would be better if kids in my country waited until they were older. A lot of traumatic experiences or power imbalances happen when immature people engage in something so intimate with people that might not be thoughtful or even just outright cruel

Exactly. It should be common sense that kids should not have sex because they are not mature enough to comprehend the consequences of having sex, therefore, they cannot consent. Also why, at hospitals, it is parents who sign the informed consent for medical procedures of their children.
And I agree with you, they are vulnerable to being groomed and power imbalances because they are impressionable. Just because a lot of younger people engage in sex these days doesn't mean it's right. It is not normal and should not be normalized.
I'm glad there are many people in this website who agrees. We may read the dirtiest BLs but we can differentiate fiction from reality.

Why 10 years when you can meet up once in a while? Ngl, I'm disappointed that it didn't end with Haejoon and Eunyung living together since Haejoon said to his mom thag Eunyung is like a little brother to him and Eunyung confessed that he cares for Haejoon too. They are each other's home. One comment here said she wished Haejoon asked Eunyung if he wants to live together after he graduates HS. But I guess that's too good to be true. I wish there would be extras showing how they kept in touch.
Overall, it's a good read. I like it but aw, it missed the chance to be perfectly satisfying. If it were longer, the mangaka could have shown the backstory behind Koutaka's reason (obsessive and controlling mom) and how it led to his unexpectedly harsh reaction in high school.
As @Viira mentioned, we need a confrontation scene so Chitose can express his feelings of hurt and anger, and for Koutaka to explain why he didn't try contacting him for two years. He should have reached out first, although Chitose texting first (and making it from his pov) is cute and well done. We need more wholesome mangas like this.
