Helena didn't love Alec in the first placeeee. She was just powerless, she has no choice but to do the whims of those above her. That's why in their scene, she clarified if their marriage was valid right? Now that she has the power, she can now do anything and act however she wants.
The witch didn't do anything. It was Alec who made his own "curse". Lol. It was him who put himself in a loveless marriage. He was the one who dug his own grave. HAHAHAHA.
