I can kinda understand where the ML is coming from. For him, he's been waiting 10 years for her, growing and maturing. Although I definately think the base of his love was like FL said, he was afraid of losing her so he wanted to get married to for sure keep her.
I'm more glad that FL is having such a hard time accepting him as a romantic interest. She has always seen him as a baby that she was raising, even planning on adoption so they couldn't be separated.
Overall I'm not in love with age gaps esp when the other person is super underage and the older pers9n is in a position of caregiver BUT the fact that he's been maturing and FL is still having a hard time accepting him is a little reassuring.
