All her life she knew nothing of her power's existence. And now she suddenly has them? How else is she gonna choose her fiance when they had a previous fight/misunderstanding prior to this and she thought it was her fault that Kiyoka was angry. From someone who has belongingness issue, that sht is scary. Having to realize you will have no place after choosing one wrong move.
Also, she feels she is a burden because honestly there is nothing Kiyoka can help at the moment since she doesn't know how to control her power. The one thing that's helping her become stable atm, is that barrier her grandpa's place have.
She can't choose her fiance because there is nothing she can do for him at the moment and yet here is an opportunity for her to control and know her power but that too she can't choose because she wants to be with her fiance. Don't you see how difficult of a situation that is? And that's why she can't choose. She literally can't choose which side because it's both important and necessary. Hence the duel instead.
You can't expect her to suddenly become an amazing fl overnight after all she's been through. Tsk. You're no less than those Saimoris who think less of her. Just saying..
With all due respect, it is not your position to question the relationship of other people. Darn, and I've always thought he's a good friend.. Now when it's the first time Shioya wants someone for himself, you'd go and question it. You'd be surprise how many have left him for you, hope you'll regret it. Tsk.

Well it's possible you know specially when a sudden blow, especially a tremendous accident to your head unexpectedly happens. Your brain could go into shock and may result to memory loss. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that boulder was no joke. It is possible...

Stop looking too much into it. Nor expect and compare it with other Manhwas. This story has a lot more to give than what you've just come across. You're barely even there. Also, look into a bigger picture. The title itself, under the oak tree, the legend of Anatol: the nymph and the knight. This revolves around these two hopeful romantics unfortunately imperfectly blind to a fault and are both shunned with appropriate love from their childhood.
Unless you've been sheltered and adored your whole life, you will never understand the feeling of wanting to serve and putting your beloved on a pedestal. The characters are lacking, but that's what makes it beautiful. Why? Cause they will never get it right, but still desire them unconditionally and love the other tremendously. Not like the typical fairy tale. And the jealousy? Who can actually get past to that when divorce is a legal thing! Imagine that!
So yeah, be patient with the characters and the plot. It's not that long that they have been married, you know. You might have forgotten how many seasons has just past them...
And. For Shioya-san? That's a healthy King right there. High value man with healthy boundaries. Not letting his ego get a hold of him. Letting his girl know his feelings and trusting her that she'll respect him and not see him as a wimp.
Haaaaa... 2D life... (*˘︶˘*).。.:*♡
That's a queen move right there. No beating around the bush. Straight up telling that she is taken and that she respects her boyfriend, so she can't be seen with someone else. Other than those girls playing oblivious. Like "we're friends"... Right...
I understand the comments if you hadn't read Riftan's background. But if not, well, you gotta wait and see as the story progresses then... *´ㅅ`)゙
