No, it's not because of her disability. It's because he's disappointed of her father/his son's action. Because both of grandfather and father's awkward personality, their relationship became more and more distant.

Yeah I wasn’t sure, since she said she discovered he wants just a “scumbag but a monster in human skin” I figured it had to be something really serious/different than what she had suffered up till then, since she had already been beaten to tue point where she thought she would die, that and the dark aura for the next few panels had me thinking that? But I don’t know?
