she was a terrible mother and wife, and just in general. she left her girlfriend to go marry a man who loved her (she didnt love him), because she thought she could live "normally" despite not liking men. Had a child with that man only to abandon the child and leave him with her brother who was a college student. Then came back for that baby she abandoned because she thought she could use the baby to have a normal family with her ex-girlfriend. I really do sympathize with her situation and it tends to be a close reality for lots of gay people living life in a pretense, but she was awful nonetheless kind of improved her character towards the end, and she wasn't ultimately evil.
