What I'm always curious about in unorthodox high school stories like these is how the faculty isn't aware/doesn't get caught up in their (obviously destructive) student body shenanigans. Seriously, there's a lot of people obsessing over an inexplicably rigid student-made hierarchy, people like Kusakabe and Azusa are being bullied endlessly (the latter being very conspicuously raped) for ranking low in said hierarchy, and their bullies are really brutal, sexually pent up dirtbags. I'm guessing everyone else is just really passive and apathetic enough to not alert the staff or anything. Or maybe it's just a really crappy school? ¯_(ツ)_/¯ (I know I'm probably being picky, sorry. But still. Willing suspicion of disbelief...)
An enjoyable read, although I feel like it needs one more chapter to feel complete. Also, I like how Daiki's appearance gives off an aura of frailness, but he's actually quite assertive and introspective (srs tho. His monologues/flashbacks take up a good portion of the manga haha). He's great.
Back to what I was saying -- the only problems I have is that the ending is a bit rushed, and Tatsumi doesn't have much characterization aside from being the troubled yakuza love interest. I think the whole deal with the yakuza overtook much of the development, because while Tatsumi and Daiki's relationship did come off as quite genuine (I actually have a soft spot for distant but affectionate semes who aren't complete sadists/jerks), there wasn't much going on between them within the events of the story (as in, excluding the flashbacks) because Tatsumi literally showed up for a few pages per chapter to intervene in whatever scene... up until he and Daichi hook up in chapter 4. And even then it was still a bit of an abrupt change considering prior, Daiki was very persistent in his feelings of "I can't possibly like Tatsumi" only to result in Daiki implying to have liked Tatsumi for some time by urging him on to confess his own feelings. And, of course, it culminates in obligatory hook up sex and... an implied happy (read: rushed) ending (??!??). Don't get me wrong, I liked this story a lot. I just feel like it needs another chapter - or volume, even - to elaborate on Daiki and Tatsumi's relationship.
