Masataka deserved better.
I'm not talking about "he deserved to live a happy life with Souma," but rather Masataka didn't deserve to go through an entire story's worth of trauma to fall in love with his rapist. But then again, there wouldn't be a story without drama, and it wouldnt have been interesting if it were just a slice of life period piece (or would it?). Don't get me wrong, I loove dark stories and mysteries, I appreciate the complexity in this one, and the storytelling is very nice; but I'm afraid that I draw the line at... the romance here.
Yeah, Souma's gone through shit and a butt ton of trauma, and he also deserved better - doesn't justify his actions though. When he got stabbed I was like, "oh, okay." The only character I cared about throughout the entire story was Masataka, and he went through Quite A Bit Of Shit.
At least Masataka is out of that messed up household and can go on with his life.

AGREED. I felt some sadness for Souma after learning his history, however none of his past could ever justify what he did to Masataka. I could also get on board with Masataka forgiving Souma, because ultimately that was freeing for Masataka and would help him move forward... but I could not justify the whole "I've now fallen in love with Souma" because that is pretty twisted. To fall for a rapist... sheesh. I was happy that Masataka didn't die with Souma though... I thought that was the route the story would take. Thankfully Masataka will continue living and hopefully won't let what happened with Souma or that family define his life.

It's a prequel but it's starting to coincide with the events of Itou-san, which is interesting, because I'd love to see that story told from Itou's perspective. Will we see what Itou has been doing in the five years that Kyousuke's been an amnesiac? Will Kuraka Sui continue to tear my heart to shreds?
All in all, I just want Itou & Kyousuke to find happiness together again. Don't leave me hanging like this. ┗( T﹏T )┛

So, gangster nursery sequel when?

It just occurred to me that Harada made a reference to Shin Megami Tensei, one of my favorite games series ever. Lol if Harada plays SMT, that's super awesome.

Kinda don't want this story to go the NTR route. That'd be too predictable. Once again, Naoto and Taichi suffer because of... communication problems... Just like in the beginning. I love them and all, but come on, talk it out, you guys.
On an unrelated note, Nishina's hair looked really good in the past. Short hair best hair. ;^)
The current Kyoto trip arc is so tame (compared to all the other chapters) and slice of life-y, it's actually making me a little afraid LOL. Like it's all gonna come crashing down later.
You're not wrong. Ogawa said on a conference that darker times are coming again and the end is soon but then after that happier times.
