Wow! I was playing checkers, and Woobin was playing chess ♟!!!. Give this man a Grammy! He deserves it! At this point he should really think more about an acting career. Ahhhhhhh! When he was explaining how he learned to cook, all I heard was "so I'm trained as a husband". Seriously! He's laying it all out for you Moah! And his doll form was tooooooo adorable! Climbing on her, sitting on her lap! Getting up to transverse the long ass table just to push her tea and cake closer to her, like it's his life's long mission? Adorable!! It might also be another reason why he prefers staying in the doll form too, since she seems way more comfortable showering affection to the doll. Ahhhhh, everything so freaking cute! I freaking ADORE the MC!! She's so mature about a lot of things. In situations where I'd clearly expect any other fl to freak out a lil bit and start rushing to think of something to fix it, Mina's just like, "yh, this is part of my job. Scandals happen all the time, just gotta let it die down or deal with it. Someone clearly trying to sabotage my career? Fucking sue them for defamation of course." She's not afraid to confront her problems head on! I need to take a page from her book myself and stop complaining about my problems and instead just deal with them. On the other hand, man...woobin. I don't blame him too much for allowing the stupid cockroach to manipulate him AGAIN, but man. I really hope he heals from his trauma and not let it occur a THIRD time. As for the cockroach herself. She's definitely afraid of Mina, why is she going to go hide behind a TV show? Confront Mina face to face you coward. Does she really have no life? I often wonder about the lifestyle of people who purposely try to ruin people's lives like this, but I could never wrap my head around it. This chapter had me on a roller coaster. First off, I'm sooooo damn proud of Anya. Like she.my daughter for real. And then whiplash one time with that tontritus bolt. Loid's face just didn't know what emotion to portray, poor muscles just gave up trying.
And are we slowly getting more into Anya's back story? Yes please!
Then there's Damian's brother. I'm just gonna come right out and say it. I believe he's an experiment as well. There's no way a human being can have absolutely no thoughts. But then he has his moments. And he looks almost identical to his dad. Guess Damian got the mom's looks. What if the project Anya and bond came from was a result of Desmond. He prolly funded that whole programme, and he and his son were the first to undergo it's tested results in the family. Then maybe the mom couldn't handle it so that's why she's so bipolar. Damian was probably too young to get his turn, or maybe the mom protected him from doing so? Like Zuko's mom killed his grandfather to protect him in ATLA? Whatever the case, the Desmond family certainly has to be connected to that case somehow. There's just no other way I can see to explain their alien like behavior. And it'd certainly give incentive later down the line to want to help Damian. Ahhh, the theories in my head are just starting to buzz. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
That makes sense, especially if we consider Anya's strength is classical literature. It feels weird that she excels at that since from a scientist's POV, aside from mind-reading, you'd usually what an experiment to excel at anything related to science or math since that would help your field expand and grow as well as making it easier to understand your mind. Now, of course we have some idea of what the experiments were for, aka WAR but Anya also doesn't seem physical better. She's obviously some kind of failure considering she ended up in an orphanage. My guess Anya was created to be a spy or assassin like Loid and Yor, hence the correlation to classical literature as some kind of code. but it looks like he has thoughts tho? its only blank when he was talking to sy-on boy. afterwards you can see his thoughts and hes thinking "i dont understand father." i don't understand people." enough of this, who cares. there's no use pondering it /.../" (i dont remember the rest) but yeah. maybe he has something on him that blocks mind reading? it clearly shows him thinking though so theres that. they're really weird thoughts tho so he may still be an experiment, would explain his lack of understanding of people (gonna quote him on that cuz he was thinking "i dont understand people") and his academic excellence. your theory does make a whole lot of sense tho and i agree with your conclusion that the desmonds are related to the experiments, and i also wanna know why the mom is so bipolar

I think he can control it. It seems he felt someone trying to read his mind and he let it happen in an attempt to learn who it was. Anya is still little and can't control it well but in the grand scheme of things, it would be debilitating if you couldn't turn it off and on at will. Oh, and you'd probably be depressed by what people actually think of, including about you. Mr. Desmond certainly feels like the type to consider his sons pawns.
And to piggyback to DogsNcats, Anya excelling classical literature makes sense to me. They needed her to understand language as fast as possible to make her useful as a mind reader. Even in media today, people can gain a higher understanding of the material being presented by having a classical background. In some puzzle games, you could even know the answer before looking around. In a time of spies, codes could easily be hidden in a classical undertone. Or in shorter terms, like making pop culture references.
