Wtf no he never did such a thing. Dude if anything the whole 300 + chapters of the book tell us how much more than love hua cheng revered and worshipped xie lian as his god. He dropped to his kmees when xie lian found out the cave and very seriously gravely assured that not once has he acted out of character towards the statues. Also remember it was xielian who asked him to mske a statue for papappapa solution after the mana caused one xie lian statue to escape in that one extra epilogue chapter

Any one who've read the novel knows how crazy in love hc was with xl the author herself said due to Chinese censorship she couldn't add as much smut as mdzs but yh I agree bcuz of it more focus was on their feelings rather than just action which made it so special that's why they are still my no 1 fav couple (づ￣ ³￣)づ

U see xie lian is a god and hua cheng his most devout follower so before his undying love comes his unwavering worship and reveration which him being xie lian's one and only worshipper helped keep xie lian alive. U see simply jerking off takes away the gravity of hua cheng's complicated and deep feelings that he have for xie lian. He punished himself for having sexual thoughts and fantasies until he was givwn the green signal from xie lian and could act upon that. So assuming that he freely fapped to his statues for 800 years takes away this very unique character of hua cheng which sets him apart from any other mc.
