Nope, this has an actual storyline on the side of fighting and becoming op, and each single character has its own motivations and history.
If I were to compare this, I'd compare it more to something like Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint - there is, of course, a focus on two main characters, however side characters also play out a huge role.
