So there was a power shortage in my home just now and I was closing the doors of my home, but as I was walking away, I stepped on a hard surface, I just told myself " AHh, it must be a book" since my sister is learning for an exam. I went on and continued what I was doing, later when the power shortage was resolved, light came back, I heard a scream, my sister was complaining about a crack on her computer. She left it on the floor while learning, she was crying since that computer was pretty expensive and our father was angry saying he would not help her repair it because she has been careless and left it on the floor, so someone unknowingly stepped on it. I feel so guilty, I wanted to tell her it was me but I'm too scared of her reaction, because I first lied that I was not the one , I don't know what to do, but I'm willing to help her financially to some extent to repair it. But if I were to tell her it was me, she would ask me to cover all the repair costs, I don't have that kind of money, I don't know what to do?, I need advices and not critics, please
you didn't do anything wrong because she is the one who left it on the floor and not like you stepped on it on purpose. It just happened unfortunately. I know it's hard because you feel guilty but don't tell her you did it just because it won't really do any good. I suggest you help her pay to repair it as much as you can without draining yourself.
i wrote a shit ton to help and explained but i accidentally refreshed my page and it all went so ill summarise, if you dont want to tell her, that would be for the best - u can pay back by slowly helping her pay it back too, keep a strong bond with your sister since siblings will always be there left for you, maybe then when the time comes admit to it or something but be on very good terms with her. she must be under a lot of stress losing something that has everything from prep exams to wtv - dont sweat and good luck
