Instead of the author, maybe the artist was the one who got sick? (Since the author was writing ball boy tactics which novel ended recently), and long before the hiatus for high pulse happened (in 2023), the novel already ended in 2020. And yep the end was like this too. There's side stories in the novel once they're adult, but idk if they'll include it in the manhwa.
