idk, there’s enough room to love different people in your heart. minami is not being unfaithful because he’s gone to see akemi. it’s like a final farewell—closure. i recommend the film past lives to see what i mean. the fl in it is married and reaches out to an ex bf she had (before she moved to the us from korea.) u can see how it still is in the background of her thoughts, esp at night. how would her life had look if they had stayed together? she struggles throughout the film because she loves her husband but. she also loves this other guy and is almost grieving what could’ve been. it’s bittersweet and her husband gives her that space to feel everything. the confusion, anger, lust (albeit they do not cheat/act on anything)
Minami is not unfaithful now but he was in the past and thats why I can't feel much simpathy for him at this point, actually idk how much faithfulness I can get from them since they had the club already when they were dating but I may be remembering it wrong, I'll have to re read those chapters to be sure.
