For those interested, romance is not the focus of the novel, and mc and ml only kiss at around the middle or a little sooner (we are not even on chapter 100 of the novel and there are 293 where I read the raws from). The misunderstanding takes a LONG time to be resolved and it's all because of ml telling mc to back off and then resenting mc for actually avoiding him because he forgot he even said that.. I'm on chapter 197 rn and so far ml is trying to conquer mc lol. Mc doesn't reject ml when he confesses his feelings but I think he's confused because he hasn't been asked out and ml wants to get chummy. We don't really get many moments of them together though, the story is centered around mc overcoming situations that endanger him, meeting special people in the process, and those ppl wanting to protect him back. I hope there's more romantic interactions as I keep reading but I still got to get through the sorbett conflict... it's sad this is a pg novel because the kiss scenes are so hecking cute and well written :')

Btw I loved when the prime minister was scared shitless because he was supporting Edward for the king position and noticed he fucked up for the way he helped while using the expression "죽고 못 살 형제/사이(?)", like he said they couldn't live without each other/have a deep connection and that harming mc for pushing for the trial could be costing him his life

If Jian Suiying had been just a little less violent and not so light on his fists I could come to like him wholeheartedly, but it doesn't sit right with me that he's been violent from the very beginning. The brother and the ex both suck and I can't stand them either tbh. One thing I got to acknowledge though is that it's true that despite hating his step mom and step bro, he never went past hurtful words and humiliating them. He could've as well kicked them out of the house ages ago.
It's actually a saying that's popular worldwide. Nowadays it's not really said that much (though I still hear it albeit rarely) but ~10 years ago I used to hear ppl say it a lot. The author is clearly from an older generation and I think that's why they might've put it in the script (tho Idk for sure if it's them or the translation because where I read the raws it's not going to be updated until tomorrow), it also makes sense that they aren't so aware of cultural issues that younger generations are more aware of.
I was oblivious about it being culturally insensitive to those who are muslim since I'm not into any particular religion but it really is unfortunate to know some ppl have felt wounded while reading this chapter. Thankfully, as time goes by people are more conscious about ceasing certain behaviours and saying specific things that are received as rude by others, so I'm sure this will be one of those things too.
i dont even think the author used it but rather the english translation team
I won't know for sure until tomorrow because this manhwa is from l3zhin and I can't buy the raws there since it's not foreigner friendly. It's going to be updated tomorrow on the bunny site so I'll check when it's up. Tbh the reason I read this manhwa here nowadays is because the English version is available here faster than on the bunny site but it's crazy the difference in the comments lmfao
You were right! I posted what was originally in the script in a newer post but basically the author didn't even write a saying at all. Idk where that came from because it's not like they put that as an equivalent to a korean saying.
