Some of you don’t understand why Lyle is acting like that. But you have to understand this is his first time in an actual relationship. From when he was a kid until this relationship, he also was accustomed to only having one emotion, indifference. So this being his first real relationship and first time showing emotion, of course he isn’t going to handle it well. Ash definitely should have told Lyle when his ex was texting him. Obviously, Lyle should have cleared this misunderstanding from the beginning. But they make mistakes and hopefully clear them up.
