Its good you're able to distinguish that its just a manga and shits pretty hot but weird as fuck irl. People forget that its just a manga nd its fantasy that's it

alraune May 23, 2020 12:51 am

alraune May 7, 2020 10:51 pm

    efmavmim May 7, 2020 10:59 pm

It is actually extra chapter of Mo Dao Zu Shi (Novel) , seems like someone made comic of it. (But only for this extra) Mo Dao Zu Shi has webtoon too but it is censored.

This trope is my least favourite one lol. Don't get me wrong, this comic is super cute and i like it but I always hate seeing this 'I'm sorry I'm not a woman :(' stuff in bl. Especially when there's no indication the characters ever identified as straight. It's one of the things that make it clear the person writing doesn't know much about irl gay relationships.

I think you're forgetting about culture here. A lot of these authors come from places where homosexuality is not accepted, and getting married can even help you climb the ladder in business.

it shouldn't really matter if it's accepted in your culture or not. if you are going to write about it and make it your art, you need to do your research.

"Do your research???" The culture and location of the story literally influence how you portray these topics? Maybe you need to do your research?

it's fine if a character thinks/ says such a thing if it is apparent with their cultural background, but it should have been taken with a grain of salt. for example, it is written as though saying/ thinking such a thing is supposed to be enticing/ turn the reader on instead of doing what it actually does (offend the reader).
there are other instances in manhwas that have said similar things where certain parts of a man self-lubricate, they say certain things that are not socially-aware. it reflects bad research.
    so agree to disagree

It is not written as if it should be enticing, it clearly was done to show a level of insecurity. To compare an insecurity that is very real, especially in Asian cultures to men assuming self lubrication is a thing is just silly.

Saying "you'd probably be happier if I were a woman" IS socially aware because if they were a woman, a bunch of social stigma and stress could be avoided.

I am projecting way too hard on our protagonist here :' (

alraune April 7, 2020 8:41 am

I have never been so disappointed.
