Came back after rereading this a second time in a while and honestly, I quite like this story. It's definitely not for everyone but I don't think it's anything all that different from something like Game of Thrones.
The incest was treated for what it was, I don't think anyone normal (that being the parties involved and the Fox) actually thought that it was something to be considered alright. I really do think if the psychological tag was added, the story would be treated for what it is, especially with the existence of the 'sequel'. I loved learning about the characters, especially Sana and the Fox.
I never felt like the incest was romanticized so I didn't mind it being used to show how emotionally depraved Sana was, it showed that she not only craved feeling loved from anybody, but that she was willing to do that in the first place due to how far she was pushed.
It could have been anybody, it just happened to be the only person who gave it to her in that moment, her own family. She threw away her morals and in that moment, she probably accepted she was no longer human anyways. It's meant to be disturbing.
Maybe its just me but just because the incest was included doesn't mean it can't be used as an interesting narrative device to explore a characters mental state. It's mainly what I see people complain about when it comes to the story, which if fine if you don't like it but I thought it served it's purpose well while reading.
I'm honestly so confused what the writer is going for here. When I was reading through the early chapters, I thought that this was going to be an unfortunate "neither consented" scenario with how the initial part of the sex scene went.
The Beta stated he couldn't push the Alpha off because of how many drinks he had, so I was under the assumption he was too drunk to even push him off, therefore drunk enough to not consent? Yet the story wrote it as it was the Alpha's mistake, despite him being in a condition to not consent to sleeping with the Beta either since he clearly was trying to get a hold of his sleeping partner before the full rut hit.
However the Alpha is being treated as the sole bad party here? I can understand he's being a little frustrating on the readers end but the Beta isn't any better either. I'm honestly getting whiplash trying to figure out how that first time was suppose to be taken since it seemed at first neither party wanted it nor was happy it happened,,,,but it's now being seen in a different light?
though yes both are victims of each other but the beta still had the advantage in the situation. he was pinned down by the alpha but was able to manage to break off from the alpha's grasp, i dont think its because he cant push the alpha off because hes drunk because he literally had the strength to take the alpha into their bedroom. if he has the strength to lead the alpha into the bedroom then how can you say he doesnt have the strength to walk away from the alpha? yes both were violated by each other but one is too intoxicated to even recognize who is who and the other was conscious enough to know where to take his hyung and can navigate where the bedroom is. though i agree with you on being confused as to what is the author is aiming for in this story. the constant victim blaming the alpha is getting is genuinely so bad, rape shouldnt be taken this lightly Σ(っ°Д °;)っ
