I'm the Ex-Girlfriend of a Soldier
The reason why this is quite good, but not amazing is because its got this TV show romantic comedy type of vibe. It's so... peaceful. It's light, and cute. A woman falls in love with a man, he treats her really well, they discover more about themselves- somehow everything else (like the abusive cheating past lover, or second male lead who's also the king subordinate, or the three sisters of fate that are toying with their lives and essence and stuff...) every other thing, they're there, but they feel like background noise. Nothing wrong with that. Love the book. I'd honestly recommend it if you feel like diving into a good romance book, and the whole husband is head over heels and willing to listen to everything she says trope is your thing
I did say I like it, right? I just feel like they were all supposed to be way more traumatised and edgy than they are, but it didn't feel like that because this is a romantic comedy before all else
