Tech speaking his agreement to DoJin was to be a surrogate not a mom. He wanted an abortion, which would have solved everything without abandoning anything. DoJin may have planned a life with him but hyesung had only agreed to be a surrogate. Naturally there underlying tones of love and care (like the fact that hyesung was actually going to check up on Byul) but those are all overshadowed by his realistic fear of being bundled with the SOLE responsibility of a child, when he cannot even take care of himself. He doesn't owe DoJin anything technically speaking they're agreement was for him to give birth. Byul is naturally innocent and doesn't deserve but sadly that's what happens when you're parents situation is complicated. At any rate this will prob end happy

The arrangement was clear for hyesung, he's gonna give birth, get the money and leave the baby to dojin's care. But dojin has another plan, making hyesung stay for good before he gives birth, but the prob is it obvs failed. And let's not forget the fact that he got raped. Hyesung is not the only one to blame here. The story could have been different if Dojin's told him his true feelings.

To be fair to DoJin there really wasn't a time he could go hey I love you let's get married. Like in the beginning hyesung might have accepted it but then he overheard DoJin and Heesoo talk about inspiration. Then towards the end legit last night was the only other chance he could say that and have hyesung be open to the idea. He figured he had 3 more weeks but byul was curious on who was knocking on his door so he decided to come out early. But yeah for sure DoJin at fault here. He is a great dad, and an interesting character but it's not like hyesung brought the whole situation on himself.

But yeah, in my opinion what’s truly at fault is the misunderstanding and lack of communication.

That's what i was trying to say. Yeah, i agree that hyesung might not believe dojin even if he tells him that he loves him because of the inspiration-thing issue. He might just think that he's keeping him just to get inspiration. But he had that one moment tho, before dojin knocked on the door, what a shame because he thought he still had time. In the last few chapters in season 1, hyesung was warming up to dojin. He told him his fears, about what his father did to him and to his mother. So i thought that was the right time.
Dojin being a great, i couldn't agree more.
Well, if there's no misunderstanding, there won't be a season 2.lol
