Well it's true, that what he feels makes sense. It could have been worse than loosing "just" the past 3 month of memories, since he doesn't know how important they were - though by now he should realize that very important things happend.
BUT he was acting incredibly cold. Like he could see how devastated Sawako was but kept ...smiling weirdly, like he wasn't thinking at all. I mean even if they were still after that first kiss - his last memory - it's not ok to treat him like that :/
